Soviet Union As Seen by Haitian Photographer Gerald Bloncourt

Haitian photographer, artist and engraver Gerald Bloncourt was forced to leave his native land and move to France in 1946, where he won international acclaim in all spheres mentioned above. Paris gave him education and development. Gerald was working as a press photographer for popular magazines, his pictures were expressive and precise. He knew how to show life from all sides, being a true master of photo-portraits. Even outstanding people looked different on his photos, the way nobody’s seen them before.

Here is a collection of photos made by Bloncourt in the Soviet Union in the 50-60s.

Historical Photos of Assassination of Russian Minister of the Interior

Vyacheslav Konstantinovich von Plehve was the director of Imperial Russia’s police and later Minister of the Interior. He was killed by a socialist-revolutionary, student Yegor Sazonov, who threw a bomb into his carriage. The reason was Jew bashing in Kishinev in April 1903. Those events were used by all revolutionary parties of Russia who put all the blame on Plehve as he was resisting them through the entire period of his rule in the Ministry of the Interior.
