  1. Great art. I’m American by culture, not Russian but very interested history & people, art, literature. So these are great. If I try to guess the idea in each , will someone tell me if I am right or wrong ?

    1. People waiting in line at store to buy scarce goods. This is something I was aware of all my life but I went to non-governmental run schools.
2.Trains are not part of most Americans lives. It isn’t necessarily a good thing. The USA is big too.
    3. I love the Wedding! Is this because churches were closed? Did religious ceremonies(are quite a few Russian weddings still religious?) like weddings need to be done in private? Or was it just plain poverty ? Please forgive my intrusive questions. Everyone looks happy! Money beyond a certain point does not improve happiness. Neither poverty nor riches they say is best.
4.mothers after their children about coats and things; that it a universal phenom!
5.laundry on the stove ? Getting an extra stove for the laundry? We have a washing machine now, do you remember cooking laundry on the stove, yikes? Is it one of these?
6.Son going off to some kind of summer “camp” ?. Mom sewed matching clothes on treadle machine. Adorable lovely family scene. Time period?
    7. Tomatoes. Ok I’m not entirely sure what’s up here. If this were the USA, the dad would not be home or on the phone. He would be working at some job he was in charge of. In this picture though I think he is in charge of tomato distribution which is the right thing to do when guys are stuck with nothing meaningful to provide for their families or protect their communities. Tomatoes laid on newspaper for ripening , boxes with wires maybe so they can be carried on trains?/trucks? Anyway, the family I think has a big lot of tomatoes to share out to a few others to preserve/can for winter and dad is doing the coordination. ?
Families do the same thing all over the USA, not nearly as much as a generation ago, but it’s gaining popularity again.
    8. Phone booth! Wow! Superman
    9. Yes, the space itself is not inspiring. Adorable happy family & dog.
