A splendid manor of the nobility in the Smolensk region of Russia strikes with its interiors and arouses just one question – “why does it have such a miserable condition now?”

The estate of the Baryshnikovs of the late XVIII – early XIX centuries in the style of the mature Classical period is located about 100 km away from Smolensk.

In the war time, the estate was occupied bu the nazi and suffered from military actions.

  1. It’s a shame these wonderful old mansions are just rotting away. It would be nice if somebody with money and vision could convert these old buildings into modern townhouses; thus saving these great example of Russian historical architecture
