On 3rd March 1918 bolsheviks and the German signed the Brest peace treaty that gave the city of Kharkiv, Ukraine, under the German occupation. In early April 1918 German troops occupied the city. The revolution of November 1918 put an end to this and the German troops began to leave Kharkiv. These photos show Kharkiv in the days of the German occupation.
