This is how they did it in Tver, Russia. The local church is sure that the city is yielding to devil’s temptations – alcoholism, drug addictions and fornication. Priests were generously pouring holy water from the height of a helicopter over the city.
September 11th has a double holiday meaning for Russians – it’s a day of beheading of St. John the Baptist and the Day of sobriety. So the citizens of Tver got a present from the church – seventy litres of holy water poured over their heads from the sky.
Along with the priests the event was supported by a family couple who managed to wondrously cure husband from alcoholism. He served as additional motivation for those who are still addicted to alcohol.
The event was met by numerous comments from haters.
