Tryng to Save the Swans That Bathed In Oil

Citizens of Saint-Petersburg are saving two white swans from trouble. The birds flew over the power plant at night and came down on the surface of the oil settling tank (50x100m) containing water and waste substances.

The swans were promptly brought to the rehabilitation center for animals. Now they need cleaning and life support, as oil damaged their skin, feathers and got inside when the birds were trying to clean themselves.

They have been washing them for two days already, several liters of oil and detergent have been used. The swans are fed with absorbents, glucose, enterosgel to purify internals and especially birds’ livers. The forecast is discouraging, but they keep trying…

Let us hope for the better.
