Pacific Coast Russian army invited journalists to show how they can cross the water barriers – rivers etc. Soldiers showed different skills such as driving under water (!) building pontoon bridges, training attack into an imaginary enemy units and more. Here is some of it.
At first they showed how they can cross rivers.
Using different types of armored vehicles.
Also they modeled situations when the vehicle gets malfunctioning under water and the crew is being saved by crews of other vehicles.
Here is a crew that was being “saved”.
Tank T-72 during crossing a “water barrier”.
The vehicles that can’t cross the river by themselves are being loaded onto special platforms that carry them thru the river.
Another T-72 tank.
In second part of the demonstration they were showing a battle and crossing the river, artillery units participated too.
According to the legend the other coast was captured by an enemy.
To discover the situation they sent the scouts to see how many “enemies” is on another coast.
The scouts have discovered how many “enemy” units are on the other coast.
And then the artillery started hitting trying to destroy the “enemy”.
After totally clearing the other coast up the tanks started crossing river.
They took sure there were no more “enemy” units left on that coast.
And destroyed the rest of the “enemy”.
After it was totally clear, the pontoon crew arrived and started assembling a temporary bridge.
They made a bridge over 100 m long in just a few minutes.
Here its being linked.
Then another unit started to build more bridges.
The second bridge was 119 m.
