Probably by now you already heard about bitcoin. Also you probably know that this crypto currency can be “mined” and “mining” is done on special farms. Here is one of such. In fact it’s the biggest installation in Russia (at least from what we know). And it earns its owners millions of dollars each month.
A huge hangar is hosting 3,000 ultrafast bitcoin mining devices.
All they in summary give 38 PH/S hashing power. It’s a lot, believe us.
They all consume a lot of electricity. In fact, the monthly electricity bill is around 6,500,000 roubles (which equals to $120,000 more or less) each month!
Four engineers track the equipment 24×7 and use special software and video cameras to oversee the work of the system.
The location of this farm is kept high secret.
And this is why: every month they manage to “mine” around 600 bitcoins. At modern day exchange rate this equals more or less $1,650,000 each month.
Every system is temperature monitored all the time.
Bitcoin miners are getting obsolete very fast. Each such device costs $3,000 and would be needed to replace somewhere soon. Having 3,000 of $3,000 devices bring you to whoping $9,000,000 equipment costs.
So the owners of the farm afraid the raids.
Can I rent a small corner and hook up my miners? 😉
I suppose with the low electricity prices in Russia it is a good place to do that sort of thing. But frankly, I won’t invest in bitcoin.
Well, no Enron thieves there.
What’s the big deal about Cashberry? Is it a scam, Ponzi scheme or what?
Great Information, This is really useful to all of us. please keep it up. Thanks for the sharing this valuable information.
