A family in Belarus finds themselves comfortable in this new mini house they built. The square space of the habitat is just 16 m2 or around 160 sq ft. They are a family with a kid so it is around 5 m2 per person, including a bathroom, a kitchen an living space. Let’s see how it looks:

The idea to move out to such a small house came to them when they found themselves giving a lot for their monthly rent. So they figured out they can instead build a micro house and save on rent.

They have to use the place to its maximum. They sleep above the living room and down under their kitchen they have a storage place.

They used isolation to be able to live here for the whole year round. They use natural gas and electicity for heating.

They also live with a dog. And it finds itself ok inside with them too.

Their house seems to be smaller than a standard small trade shop.

They built the house themselves. The total cost of the materials and all effort was just $4600. Together with furniture, household electrics etc. So the house paid off really quick as they paid more than $500 for a rent in Minsk.

They said it’s even possible to transport this house to any new spot if they wish. Just need to get a permit from road police.

Did you like the idea?

  1. This house is deceptively large due to the fact that it utilizes several overlapping levels to magnify the cubic foot area of the total volume…..very clever.

  2. They did a perfect job I love it, everything planned down to the last nail with nothing left undone.
A beautiful charming family ty for letting us see inside.
    Cheers from Canada

    • They began to build a large house on the purchased land nearby, and this will be the guest house.
Ride away from the center to the suburbs every day to build a house, to spend money on renting an apartment, gasoline and travel time.
They choose this option – temporarily live in this small house.

  3. excellent, I love it. Tiny house and large bit of land to grow your own food and catch your own water is likely going to be the future for many people.

  4. This is smaller than my current place, but looks like it would be a whole lot more comfortable to live in. I want this place.

  5. I am planning to build a little house like that so I can live with my two cats and was searching on google and have just read this story. It’s amazing! I love it!
