Selection of winter photographs taken during the Soviet times.
Once again, this should be called “Winter in Moscow”. The rest of the country was quite different.
It appears that many people in Russia live in the same north zone as Canada…..therefore their winters are very brutal. Its the same every year….they’re used to it.
Except in Russia much larger portion of population lives in the cold regions, whereas in Canada the majority live in warmer regions, similar to the climate of the Black sea.
Canada has almost no population North of the Polar circle, or anything like cities such as Murmansk, or Archangel. And today, most Northern towns in Canada are 100% on government subsidies, and without them would disappear very quickly.
If you think that subartic Quebec or Ontario have winters “similar” to the subtropical Black Sea coast, you’re drunk or pot delusional.
