  1. I thought the 1st day of Summer was June 20th in the Northern Hemisphere???

    I guess in Russia it’s whenever they would like to have it.

    • Strictly speaking yes, the 1st on June is not the start of summer from the astronomy and nature point, also in Eastern Europe. But traditionally in Easter Europe the 12 calendar months are divided by the 4 seasons. So June, July and August are called the summer moths (some pupils used to have the summer vacation almost all 3 months). December, January and February are called the winter months etc.
