A nice collection of late 19th century photos of the Russian Empire. It looks like a totally different world from how modern Russia looks now. At that time, Russia included such places as Helsinki and the whole of Finland, Warsaw and Poland. Much more area than now. Each picture has a caption but the captions are in French – though you can easily understand what they mean – like this on top says “Le Palais De Lamiraute” which translates into “Palace of Admiralty”. Enjoy the view!
