Tolmachevo is an airport in Novosibirsk – ex Soviet “Academic City” – the city of young scientists. Even now its considered to be a center point for all Russia offshore programming services market with thousands of people working in companies serving all the Western world in long distance programming. However, besides the science part of the city there is a strategic meaning – as the city is in the middle of the country and so there are plenty of warfare placed around. Alexei, the blogger, has went to the Tolmachevo – cities main air gate and have made shots of some not so civil part of the facility.
He says that Tolmachevo airport initially was conceived as a military facility. So it still has the place for the army needs.
