A blogger calling himself Armahema has made an attempt to visit a recently abandoned factory which was making a highly corrosive tincture we know now by the name Sulfuric Acid. It looks like he got out of this location pretty safely and so we can see what he encountered inside. Spoiler: after reading this post you should have a basic understanding on how sulfuric acid is being made. Also there is a lot of sulphur inside. So this is the factory he went to. Even from here you can already see some yellowish spots that were probably caused by sulphur, which as has already been said is very abundant around this abandoned fctory.
And this is a special oven. It’s called an injector oven or something like that. Why it is called an injector oven is because there are injectors inside this oven which spray the molten sulfur inside the oven where it burns and turns into a sulfur dioxide – a gas full of sulphur. The temperature of the gas when it exits the oven is over 1100 degrees centigrade.
Centophema says that this is the most important part of sulfuric acid creation as here the sulphur dioxide gas is cooled down to 400 degrees and is mixed with a catalyst and turns into.. sulphur trioxide. Wikipedia says sulphur trioxide is a main component of so called acid rain. So this big barrel is full of acid rain.
And it looks like the guy got inside this barrel! So this is the place where acid rain was raining cats and dogs.
Later, this sulfur trioxide had to be cooled down from 400 to 200 degrees. So it goes to this big sized fridge.
You see that it even looks like your normal kitchen fridge, but very big. Amazingly, it hasn’t been scrapped for the metal, but it isn’t in working condition any more so you can’t freeze someone there.
