Russian Formula One Race Track in Sochi

After the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi ended, not many world class events were going on there, however they say that in two months, in October, there will be the first Formula One race in Russia. There were no active F1 raceways in Russia before, however I’ve heard before that they wanted to build one in Moscow, and probably even built it, but then a new race track was built in Sochi, very close to the place where the Olympics were held. Dmitry got a chance to get inside the almost finished project and took some photos there. Here they are.

  1. Yes. Do not spend those rubles on health care, education, job creation, and raising standards of living. Yes, spend that money to show off in front of foreigners. Do that.

    • Yes do not spend those dollars on improving your public education which is lagging behind most of the developed world, do not spend those dollars on giving free high level education for your citizens who go into debt because of student loans, do not provide free healthcare for your citizens, do not help your constantly increasing impoverished citizens, instead spend $600 billion every year invading countries and waging wars to make your elite even richer. Stupid Americans.

    • …”Do not spend those rubles on health care, education, job creation, and raising standards of living”… LOL. You’re talking about the US, I suppose. Fits perfectly.

  2. Why? For one event this is built? What percent will go uncompleted, as did Olympic villages in Sochi, so well documented even here. Let me guess, in a year or two, Top Gear will visit and explore the abandoned ruins.
