Nelidovo a Village of the Closed Mine

As  blogger Samson reports, Nelidovo in Tver region of Russia is a town where once the coal mines were operating. Later the coal mining here was found to be unprofitable and the mines got shut down. The last one was closed almost twenty years ago. However people stay in the town, the ones that couldn’t find a better place for themselves in the new reality. The blogger tells the town reminds him the landscapes of “Stalker”.

“The houses were built in early 1950s and not much changed here since then”, writes Samson.

  1. Amazing set of pictures again today, all of the different subjects shared today so far !! So much learning to do from all these. It is really appreciated that you are not showing just the good things, the luxurious latest things of Russian life.
You are not shy or ashamed to share,
the olden things that are decaying, rotting.
These show reality and of a rich past.
    Continue this sincerity and
    openess. How about
pictures of Russian death related themes, burials, sick
people, hospitals etc., ? This is real life.
