Today we are going to join jet-fighters during their flights together with an aerobatic team “Rus”. Not only for the thrill but to celebrate the 1150th anniversary of the Russian Federation in the city of Veliky Novgorod.
All flights start from this room of the training aviation centre. The pilots adjust their GPS navigators according to the information of the meteorologist, sign necessary papers.
In 1987 the aviation centre was given ten planes L-39 “Albatros” for participation in the air parade in Tushino near Moscow.
The Czech training and combat aircraft Aero L-39 Albatros is in service of more than 30 countries of the world.
Medical examination and instructions before a flight are necessary.
The red buttons are forbidden to be pushed! Most of the time the pilots are taught catapulting.
The flight is delayed for some reason.
These aircrafts do not have much space for luggage.
In such a position one has to sit for several hours.
If you accidentally find yourself in one of these aircrafts you experience delight!
The fighters are making a circle over Veliky Novgorod.
The L-39 are to be fuelled.
Sven cams are mounted on the aircrafts. They all have to be reliably fixed.
These pipes are for smoke (ordinary diesel fuel). Colorants are used to make the smoke colorful.
And the city can see the air performance at last!
They take a group photo…
… and fly back.
The aerobatic team “Rus” exists only at the account of the money it earns. They teach piloting of varying degrees of complexity, aerobatic figures, perform at city and corporate holidays.

Excellent story and photos. Thanks.
Diesel and colorants? Who knew? I guess there really are actual chemtrails! My wife has been right all along.
