    • They died in GULAG death camps, Stalin mastered the art of SLAVE labor building the Soviet Union.

Do some research on Communism it will make Hitler out to be a saint…

          • @quertz: Because Hiler ended up killing millions of his own people in the wars he startted, millions of foreigners in state-sponsored genocides and invasions, and finally because he industrializad Mass Death… That’s why.

Hitler’s still No.1, regardless of your adgenda.

      • I don’t need to research communism. And you clearly need to understand that 28 million Soviet citizens died in the war. Missing from this series of photos of Kiev are pictures of Babi Yar. All the Soviet cities taken by the fascists had their own Babi Yar. Perhaps you should show some concern for them, not the murderers and your own political agenda…

      • Bad choice of words, Hitler was worse then Stalin During WW2 estimated at over 14 million and that does include the 2+ Million POWs, Mostly from the Eastern Front. Yes, counting what Stalin did Before & After the war adds up to more then that 20 Million +

        • You forgot the number of CIVILIANS dead in the USSR only (about 20 million), and also the Germans that Hitler sent to their death in his war.

WWII casualties amount to more than 50 million dead. No one can compete with Hitler in horror. Not even paranoid Stalin.

          • Closer to 60 million. So, the soviets invade an Ally-China and treat the chinese worse than the Japanese did. If it is possible. Both are bad and trying to determine who is worse is pointless. Both have a special place. Bad place. What is not mentioned much is the post-war teatment and the degradation of people in occupied areas. The invasion forces of all countries took excessive liberties during occupations of post war Europa. The lack of prosecution for post war atrocities is most hyporcritical. The treatment of Japanese war criminals compared to Germans is most interesting and again hyporcritical.

  1. I think they had to perform labor and spend time at detention camps but most of them probably ended up back home after a few years. Of course, there were some who died from hard work and diseases.

  2. More of Germans whom were captured (for example: Stalingrad) were moved deep into Siberia. They worked in a coal mine and not only.

  3. Gulag. Some survived and were sent back to Germany. Soviet prison system = free labour for communism (you cry you die). Capitalist prison system = drugs + credit card debt (die confused).

  4. Hopefully rotted in hell !
As always fantastic photos, good to see the arrogant, cowardly Nazi dogs being led into captivity.

  5. Most of the officers where tried in a multi country court and found guilty of war crimes. They where either hung or spent time in prison. The others where forced into manual labor to rebuild the cities they destroyed and probably went back to Germany after everything was said and done.

    • Soviet Union troops committed horrible crimes ‘rape, murder’ ect… Why are these not ‘war criminals’ answer is the USA turned a blind eye to the USSR.

      • Well, there was not much sympathy for the Germans after their Genocide policy of “Lebensraum”. You should thank that the Soviets didn’t do the same thing after fighting back an invasion and systematic genocide. There were much more millions of murdered victims in the Soviet side. That may explain your surprised view.

        • No blind eye was turned to the treatment of our shared enemies. It was well known and accepted how we vanquished them. It was war and they started it. Together we finished it. WWII Germans, Japs, F–k them. Someone had to be on the losing side of history.

          • If we would have invaded Japan Millions more would have died, they would have fought to the end. That is a fact of WW2 war with Japan.

      • Read about what Germany did to the Russians, a lot worst, by far. That was the biggest reason that the Allies let them take Berlin

    • Perhaps you would be glad if the Nazis would have wiped out from Earth all Slavic people, as was planned. 20 Million CIVILIANS died only in the Soviet Union. Nazis couldn’t kill more because of the Red Army WON… Something very easy to forget by some people.

  6. Stalin gave Germany war materials (Iron Ore & OIL) – FACT
Stalin signed a treaty with Hitler both were brutal dictators
Hitler consulted with Stalin on how to do mass extinction of unwanted people groups. Stalin had mastered GULAG’s and SLAVE LABOR with his DEATH CAMPS.
Why do uneducated people view Hitler as the Devil and Communism as wonderful. 150 MILLION people have died due to COMMUNISM it is a FACT.

    • Fact: British and the French did NOT declare war against the USSR, only against Germany after BOTH armies invaded and occupied Poland… Perhaps they were smarter than you. They knew they could only win against the Germans with the Soviets as allies. And that’s what happened.

    • “150 MILLION people have died due to COMMUNISM it is a FACT.” ???
      Total population USSR
      January 1920: 137,727,000
      January 1937: 162,500,000
      June 1941: 196,716,000
      January 1946:(!)170,548,000
      January 1951: 182,321,000

      January 1937 162-150=12 ??? 🙂

      • YOU missed the fact that Communism has exterminated more people than Germany did.

Are you saying Stalin did not stave the Ukraine of 7 MILLION people in one year!

        • “…Are you saying…?”. No, that’s what you’re saying, not me.

You keep forgetting the high cost paid by the Soviet people to defeat Nazi Germany. Probably the highest cost paid by any nation in recorded history.

        • Mac, you hate communism, that’s fine with me. It’s a dead end and made a lot of suffering. But writing that soviets “make Hitler out to be a saint” discualifies all your arguments.

  7. what did they work at in Siberia I have heard of only one thing and that was a railroad to know where. What was the point of working people to death without there work meaning something for Russia, Why not just shoot them if work was for no reason and get it done with?

    • Nazis did exactly what you said, but not only with POWs. Well, they also burned people alive inside their farms, among other “civilized” genocidal pratices.

      • Nazis didn’t kill POWs (=captured soldiers) because of Third Geneva Convention. It wasn’t signed by Russia, so russian soldiers were put in death camps.

        • “…Nazis didn’t kill POWs…” but also “..russian soldiers were put in death camps…”. (??)

It seems you hatred against russian people makes you write contradictory nonsense.

          quertz,

Again, it should be terrible for you that the Soviets crushed the Nazis and their ethnic extermination plans for all Slavs. Get over it, or keep posting your true datk nature.

        • Yes “quertz”, nazis didin’t put POWS in gulags, they just killed them (and burned their families). In your twisted mind, that’s OK! You’re a bit disturbed.

  8. quertz – You have never heard of the Malmedy Massacre then ? And that’s just for starters. The arrogant, cowardly Nazis didn’t give a monkeys about the Geneva Convention. Are you posting from the communal room in a Psychiatric Hospital ? Nurse ! Quertz requires his medication, make it a double dose.

    • Adolf wins. He killed 20 million CIVILIANS (non jewish) in only two countries, in just 4 years! No oher nation has killed more people in the shortest time period, ever. It’s all about ‘eficiency’…
