The firing ground of the Black Sea Fleet “Opuk” is located in the Crimea and is used only by Russian armed forces. “Opuk” is universal: infantries and artilleries, seagoing ships and aviations can practice their firing possibilities. Today we’ll see one fighting training of a landing assault battalion with imitations of enemy landings and marines attacks.
The company begins its movement on a field.
During this process crews of BTR-80 get last instructions.
The infantry receives a directive to lie down and dig in, that is not easy because of heavy bullet-proof vests.
Soldiers didn’t have enough time to dig up even small holes when a new command came: “Put shovels away and take guns!”
They still use RPK-74M.
Go with little rushes!
These guys threw grenades RGD-5 just bowing a little.
Then infantrymen separated for groups, ran about a km and occupied trenches for repelling an enemy’s counterattack.
Guns, machineguns, RPGs, SVDs, PKTs and BTRs were also used.
The target field.
In the end again throwing of RGD-5. And nobody here is insured from such mistakes as accidental grenades in your own trench.
The general formation after trainings.
Such trainings are not a rare thing, the gunnery range works all year round. Besides trainings on the land, there is an obligatory landing from a big ship. That is the way all military units come to the firing range.
Every month marines train in Sevastopol.
Soldiers of the landing and assault battalion jump with parachutes approximately 5 times in a year.
A firing practice of the artillery division using SAU-2S1 “Gvozdika”.
An engine of the battery commander.
The engineer and sapper company cleared a field of mines during its training.
Sappers use probing rodes.
A smokescreen serves for soldiers’ hiding.
An inductive mine detector IMP.
And this is a multichannel mine detector MMP.
Special flags are used when a mine is revealed.
An engine of the mine clearing platoon.
This plant is ready to use its detonating cables UZP that may shoot for 200-500 metres.
The engineer and sapper platoon has minelayers as GMZ-3.
Minelayers “sow” and bury mines in the ground and if it is impossible (soil is too hard) they just lay mines on the ground.
A mine put on the ground.
The drivers’ platoon control a territory from watersides till the sea or river depth of 5 metres.
Drivers go through a serious medical commission.
Each driver has to stay under the water for 100 hours in a year. That is the obligatory norm.
Marines of the Black Sea Fleet were ready to take part in Chechen wars, but the Ukrainian government prevented them.
