The Reconstruction Of 1941 War Parade In Moscow

On the 7th of November Moscow held a grandiose theatrical performance. The parade in Red Square was reconstructing the war parade of 1941, after which the troops had gone exactly to the battlefield. Different corps that took part in the performance were clothed in the World War II Soviet military uniform.

  1. Why have they all got guns, I thought for realism, most would have had to pick up guns from dead comrades who were shot by their own troops from behind with a machine gun?

    • You watch too many movies and take them as truth. That was a lie, inaccurate depiction of Russian history. That movie offended the real soldiers of that war who went to go see it, they walked out of that movie in complete disgust.

  2. I wonder, do they machine gun the ones that don’t participate?

I’m sure this is all OK for fun and stuff. But for accuracy? Nah. Mostly propaganda for the people….

  3. Every major country (which the Cz Rep. is not) has an obsession with some part of their history. Every day in the U.S. the people hear about “9-11”.

  4. @CZenda, you’re a fool.

To not understand why Russians (along with other Soviet citizens), who killed 75%-90% of German soldiers in stopping Hitler, “obsess” with WWII is ignorant in the extreme, especially if you’re from eastern Europe. If you’re American you can be excused.

    • I am not from Eastern Europe. I am from Central Europe. And I live in a city liberated by Yanks, not Soviets. Unfortunately, Patton was not allowed to march all the way to Prague. It would have saved us from 40 yrs of the barbarian Communist dictatorship.

  5. What is the meaning of the different colored cloth squares on the rifle barrels(bayonets)? The condition of some of those weapons looks pretty good considering their age.
