Bald Eagles do that near my home, although their nests, which can weigh up to 1 ton, never catch fire like that. Although, I do occasionally come accross fried ravens, their burnt skeletons still klinging to a wire.

Here In Finland a couple of cases like this have taken place with osprey nests. Too bad, but not unexpected.
