Moscow has taken a 41 place in new research of Swiss bank UBS “Prices and Earnings” where leading cities of the world are compared at cost of a life. As it is informed in the press release of the bank, the most expensive are Oslo and London, and the cheapest are Kuala Lumpur and Mumbai. Completely ten of the most expensive cities of the world under version of UBS looks thus – Oslo, London, Copenhagen, Zurich, Tokyo, Geneva, New York, Dublin, Stockholm, Helsinki. The capital of Russia has settled down in the list from 71 cities between Taipei and San-Paolo. To live in Moscow is more expensive, than in Tallinn, Vilnius, Riga and Kiev which also have got in UBS rating.
UBS compared economic opportunities of inhabitants of different cities of the world on 30 different parameters. In particular, it was used a ” Big-Mak index” – the Swiss bank has counted up, how many time it is required to earn for a well-known sandwich. It was found out, it took 25 minutes for this purpose to an average muscovite, and on the world the parameter has made 35 minutes.
In the end of June the report on the most expensive cities of the world was published by Mercer Human Resource Consulting company. According to its data, is the most expensive in the world to live it has appeared in Moscow, on the second place Seoul, and on the third Tokyo has settled down. Then in calculation comparative cost of a set from 200 goods and services was accepted.
