We all get used to those small "best before" or "expiry" labels stamped on the items from the grocery stores, but it looks like some much bigger in size things like tanks can have an expiration date too. Here's what the Russian blogger, ex soldier writes: "Last summer I visited the army camp as a soldier, in the tanks unit. And that's what we've done there. Every soldier was given a crowbar, hammers, set of wrenches and unlimited free time to crush all you can crush with all those

tools. Dashboards, electronic fillings, plastic fittings etc. can be easily first crashed, then the next step is more challenging - with wrenches you need to loose all screws you can reach." All the tanks are new, just from the warehouse. The only reason why they should be destroyed is their expiration date. They come to this tank slaughter house by their own, not towed or dragged just to become a pile of scrap metal days later.

We had once a story about a Russian guy who has turned the military vehicle into a passenger car. This one is another of that kind, but way bigger, though lacks in the interior beauty. Still they have there now: 1. The mechanical gear stick was replaced with electronic joystick which is connected to electro driven gear box. Now they can switch the gears as easy as on a video game, before one had to have a huge muscle power to switch the gear on that Russian tough thing 2. Disassembled old army

seats and put new ones, from the Chrysler minivan. 3. Improved the noise insulation. 4. Changed all the windows to the new ones, more thick, more nice. 5. Installed a rear-view camera and the monitor. 6. Put in a multimedia station, with hi-fi audio, video and wireless headphones for passengers. Now they can take a ride more safely on Russian roads, and would find their way at any condition, that's for sure, even on Russian federal highway "Lena".

While staying in Russia don't forget to visit Military-historical museum of armored vehicles and armament of Main auto-tank directorate of Defense ministry of Russian Federation, known as "Kubinka" and located in Odintsovo district near Moscow. The official web site says that the "museum presents the unique, world's biggest

collection of armored vehicles starting from WWI first constructions to modern main battle tanks. Collection was founded in 1931 and is still growing with new battlefield findings and army write-offs, with present-day count of more than 300 vehicles". Here are some examples of the exhibits.
