There was not only a Space Shuttle cloned in Russia, now meet Soviet Hummer, another strange thing Made in Russia. It is equipped with American Cummins B-180 engine, with 5.9 volume, with this one resembling Hummer even more. Even with such an engine it’s maximum speed is
claimed to be only 65 mp/h (130 km/h), why need more on such roads we have seen? They called it “The Tiger”, it sounds like oriental names like “The Silent Crawling Tiger” or so, and why wonder, more than half of Russia is situated in Asia.
These photos are made by netwinds.ru activists in the place where are a lot of Soviet cars ending their days. Most of this cars are very rare nowadays on Russian streets and were a subject to a great desire to a few generations of Soviet people, almost
deprived of the right to have a car. Now they stay there as a silent monument in far away countryside to the Soviet era and it’s style of life. Maybe on some of these cars Stalin or Brezhnev drove across the streets of Moscow.
I'd like to begin today's daily photo series with such a photo with comments on it. Here you can see a typical situation happening during
construction works in Russia - one person is working and ten are watching, giving him casual advices. That's can be seen very very often.
It deprived the majority of the population of the right to have a private property, including cars. People mainly used the public transportation means, buses, trolley-buses, trams. And this seems to be a try to make a public luxury car. Kind of multi passenger limo
heading by the route “Home – Red Factory – Home”, carrying hundreds of shock workers, with lustrous eyes and great intentions. No extra doors available. None is supposet to come out before reaching a final destination of Red Factory.
