The south on fire

For several weeks, the south of Russia has suffered from abnormal heat. Day time temperatures reach 40-43 degrees. Huge damage has already been done to the region - fires have burned out crops and woods, there are continual outages in the electric power supply, and perishable products have been withdrawn from sale.
Businesses in the city operate on a reduced schedule. In the meantime, weather forecasters and employees of the Ministry of Emergency Measures sound the alarm: soon the heat will be replaced by strong downpours with thunder-storms and even hailstones. In some regions storm warnings have already been declared.

Where the childhood leaves?

Recently, the World organization of public health services has released some unfavourable data: worldwide, there are approximately100 million homeless children. What percent of this figure relates to Russia, nobody can precisely tell. The system of accounting for the homeless children in our country is not perfect. On official data, there are no more than 5 or 6 thousand such children in Russia, but informally, the number is not likely to be less than one million. It is about half of what the
number was five years ago. However, to say that the problem is completely solved is not true. Under the existing legislation, three departments are engaged in assisting homeless children - the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Society Protection. In the opinion of experts, they work, as a swan, a crab and a pike, which drag a cart in different directions to the detriment of the system and of the problem.
