Russian Grain Harvesters

After this post about grain harvesting in Russia, many people supposed that it was some kind of “ideal” farm that differs greatly from other Russian agricultural companies because the images showed foreign harvesters, trucks and other machinery.
So to clear things up, here are some pictures of Russian produced grain harvesters. The “DON-1500″, has been in production since 1986 and is still sold in Russia. These particular ones are still being used.
These machines, bought new, run about $120,000.

The End of the Empire

This is an abandoned railway station in Abkhazia, former Russian territory. It stays untouched since the collapse of USSR - the railway connection of Abkhazia and Russia stopped and railway station left out of demand so nature could take over the left-overs of Soviet architecture. In my opinion it reminds somehow the Prince of Persia video game scenes or scenes from the movie of the abandoned civilization after some major disaster.
Cucumber Pickers of Belarus

What do those people do? They implement new technology in agriculture. It consists of one tractor riding by the road in the middle of the cucumber field and carrying up to ten people by both sides of the thing that its towing. People lay on it and pick up cucumbers on the go then putting them on the moving transporter which collects cucumbers to the central storage.
Bentley in the Field

In some parts of Russia they need luxury cars like Bentley to drive in the fields too. Sometimes they drive too fast where there are no roads and crash their beautiful luxury mechanics, like this one from Krasnoyarsk, Russia.
