Are some Russian people so into sports that they even can go to their own wedding dressed into brand new adidas sports suite? Yes and no! It is not hundred percent clear what was the reason for the groom to do this but there are strong grounds to suspect that this was a specific Russian joke, based on the habit of many representatives of Russian street culture to wear Adidas sports as top cloths choice.

A Wedding Present
Sometimes when one is invited to a wedding but he/she doesn’t have any money for a present but still in mood to present something “heavy” then this is the idea.
Traditionally, in Russia newly married couple waits for something useful as a wedding present. Often this means they wait money or something that is hundred percent needed in the future household, like a washing machine or TV set.
This time the present was really heavy, but people afraid that the newly married won’t get it.

In some parts of Russia there is a tradition to take your bride to the sauna before wedding. Some think that’s being done on some filthy purpose, but elders explain this in different way:

Another Not Usual Wedding
This Russian couple in Ukraine has chosen to marry in some different way from the usual one. They have even ordered some special strange wedding rings and cloths in the Goth style. Still it’s unclear why did they need the blue ball but they have held it through all the ceremony. And the most funny thing is that a few days later they got so tired of each other that decided to divorce and applied for the process. Well, maybe it would be better if they did it classical way.
