Guarding Odessa
When entering city of Odessa port one can be greeted by a giant metal robot staying there for years already.
Constructed mainly of auto parts, like hoods etc. - so looking at it we might guess where from the Transformers idea might has appeared.
Nazi Robots
These days many Russian online communities hit by the discussion of these photos. They were published in one popular Russian blog and the guy who published claimed that he has found the unique rare photographs of his grandfather from WW2 when he encountered the Nazi Robots. Of course many didn’t believe this and found the same things are in Lucas “Star Wars” movie, but many were fooled and this caused a big buzz, spread across many blogs.
Robocop of Perm
They say that these days there is a strange thing cruising across the streets of Russian city Perm. It has police signs on itself and uses public roads to move, it speaks to passers by with a robot-type voice and has a few cameras which make photos of events. The local police office said that it’s an experimental automated police machine for improving security in the city. We don’t have perfect photos of this thing, I hope they would be available a few days later, though today many Russian Internet news agencies mentioned this machine. We could call it Russian Robocop in action but actually it looks more like R2-D2 in action.
Soviet Robots

Can it be so that Soviet Russian goverment concealed their plans of replacing Russian people with human like robots or androids?
It could be a great step forward towards Soviet ideals - an average robot is much more convinient for a Soviet goverment than an average Soviet citizen.
According to the photo first species of those robots were treated with all honours, I wonder why they closed the project? Was it a lack of budget?
