The Presidental Plane

We’ve had already the glimple at the interior of the Russian air force one here. Now there is a more extended view.
Destruction!

Old planes should be destroyed.
Those planes were on the display in Moscow “All-Russian Exhibition Centre” since Soviet times, for over 30 years, but it seems they occupy too much space costs so much these days so they better be destroyed with excavators. As on of the locals locals commented: “there were rumors about the upcoming destruction but for all the calls the management of the exhibition replied “No, that’s nonsense! We won’t ever remove or destroy them!”. Well, they didn’t want for people to come to protect those monuments that many knew since their childhood”.
As they comment now all the planes would be crushed and removed, the next in turn is that big rocket on the background.
Selling Planes is Easy
Farnborough International Air Show, England, the strict and conservative event where big guys of different countries meet and sign multi-million military and civil aviation contracts. This is the Russian “Klimov Corporation” section - one of the biggest Russian aviation companies. Sure, they have plenty of customers, but they know how to attract even more!
And those planes of “Klimov” can be as serious as those ones on this archive recording from Old Soviet Secret Files:
Soviet Tank-Planes

It seems strange but in Soviet Russia they had planes with tracks, like tanks. They were pretty actively used in early Soviet times probably the idea behind them was to build a real tank-plane that could fight both in skies and on the ground.
Antonov. The World’s Heaviest and Largest Jet

Antonov or AN-225 is the world’s heaviest and largest jet ever built with the landing gear system of 32 wheels and a wing span of 291 feet. It was designed for the Soviet space program in 1988 and able to airlift the Energia rocket’s boosters, Buran space shuttle or ultra-heavy and oversize freight, up to 250,000 kg (550,000 lb) internally or 200,000 kg (440,000 lb) on the upper fuselage. Cargo on the upper fuselage can be 70 m long.

Monuments of Russian Aviation

In our recent publications we told about graveyards of abandoned Soviet military aircraft.
But it is necessary to notice, that not all of the old vehicles have shared such fate. Some of them are still used as monuments of Russian aircraft, and one can discover them in different parts of Russia.

It’s seems there was not enough space even at airport field for a Russian pilot and gas tank driver…
Another Abandoned Military Aircraft

Once these vehicles were the part of the iron curtain, and now they are nothing but rusty remains of the cold war.
