The Russian city of Sochi, the host of Winter Olympics 2014, got a massive flooding today. According to reports all Sochi is flooded by the river Herota (literary means "River Bullshit" in Russian) which rose because of the non-stop rains. Because of this even the
city airport is flooded with planes landing on the airfields having a few inch of water. Also, the arriving and departing tourists wander across the airport with their feet submerged in the water. These and many other pictures inside of this posting.

A New Villa Community In Sochi Gets Plundered

This villa community in Veseloye-Psou of the Adler district was built for the people who were displaced for the Olympics in Sochi. There are 79 houses here, only 20 are occupied, while others are regularly plundered. The construction of the community was finished in 2011 and since then the
houses have never been guarded. All valuable stuff is taken away, doors and windows get broken, youngsters arrange noisy parties there... The administration does not give these houses to those who really need them, keeps saying there is no vacant housing in the city.

Before the Sochi Olympics, this place appeared in the Sochi Mountains. Ilya, who went there and took the photos, calls it "100% child of Olympics" probably meaning that this was "ordered" to built so that guests of the Olympics had one more attraction to
visit. However, no matter that it's an "artificial" project, it turned out to be pretty well done and we have a chance to look into this "Roza Hutor" (that's his name) resort up close. From a distance it looks pretty European stylized.

After the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi ended, not many world class events were going on there, however they say that in two months, in October, there will be the first Formula One race in Russia. There were no active F1 raceways in Russia before, however I've heard before that they
