Halloween Ill Mood
Deserted streets. Hardly ever one or two lonely pedestrians, with their faces wrapped in bandages, hastily cross the street and hurry back to their houses, afraid to spend an extra minute outside. They won’t touch each other with a ten-foot pole, won’t talk to each other even if they are good friends, they just hustle by each other.
People are in panic. People won’t get out from their homes, their TVs and radios mutter dark… something about a disastrous epidemic… something about fatal outcomes… something about the cure… None of these “somethings” sound assuring anymore.
Yes, you can leave your house if you wish. But first comes a long protecting procedures – ointments, flu masks, bandages… whatever you’ve got – anything will do. And you think this will save you? Hardly… You want to check on your brother, living right here, just outside the city. You just need to know that he is fine, that he still hasn’t got THAT. But you cannot do even this. You cannot get outside of this city. You cannot get outside of this place. You cannot get outside of this world. You are in a trap.

Kids, instead of going to schools or playing outside, sit at home, watching boring news, that their desperate parents are literally hypnotized with. The TVs in every house are switched to the same program. News.
And you know what is worst of all? The worst thing is ignorance. You have no idea what’s going on, who to blame, who to ask for help and when it will end off. And will it?
This might have been a scenario to a Hollywood science fiction movie, or a backstage to a S.T.A.L.K.E.R. game, but it’s not. This is all more than real. This is Ukraine with the Californian flu today…
P.S. Don’t be fooled with the mood, it’s not that disastrous as it sounds, but the whole situation, unfortunately, is true.

What the fuck? California flu? The swine flu? What’s with the wedding couple, can’t they kiss one another for a moment? Fuck’s sakes.
im seriously taking a stab in the dark here but i would say that looks like a joke if its not then one of them must know they are sick and instead of postponing the event wore a mask to prevent an even worse wedding night however they both look to be in perfect health (yes i know that doesnt mean they are) so maybe they dont love each other. but yeah that looks like a joke.
Well, it’s nice to see that the US is not the only place paranoid about the H1N1 (Swine Flu) pandemic. In fact, it would seem that the Ukraine is even more paranoid than we are. As for calling it the “California flu”, that would be incorrect. It originated I in Mexico from swine farms, and migrated from there. Swine are a great place for viruses to mutate from birds to humans as most swine illnesses are equally effective on humans. Plus, given the way that poor farmers live in close proximity to their livestock, mutation from one species to another is almost inevitable. Another fun thing to think about is that in the age of easy global travel it takes little more than a day or two for any communicable disease to reach any part of the world. There are very few illnesses that stay local epidemics anymore.
Actually, the pigs came from the US and were shipped to Mexico by a big American farming company (but still not California).

Muhaha§ I hope ypu’re really joking. Swine flu has nothing to do with pigs that’ why they started to call it Californian flu or influenza A virus to get people back buying pigs on markets. And for a note, in Ukraine this really is called Californean flu. And to finish it all, apparently it’s only a big hoax, there’s no Swine flu in Ukraine, only 2 or 3 people died of it, but this is an epidemia of a normal flu virus. But it is good for some political forces in Ukraine to announce the epidemia of Swine flu because that way the elections won’t take place, they will be delayed.
Just to make people panic and pharmaceutical companies are making BIG money on it too.

Yesterday i read an article which reveals that ~50 people died from this desease in Ukrain… it’s like 1 in a million! C’mon guys… that is not the rate we should be afraid of

can you prove it was an american citizen who carried the disease to your country because frankly with the rate of international travel these days it could have been anyone, even you if youve been here in the last 6 months. and id like to point out again the fact that this epidemic started in mexico so why dont you try blaming the right people, or better yet forget about where it came from stop blaming people and try and figure out a way to get rid of it.
