Russian Death Tunnel

This is a video of what happened in the tunnel in Moscow city when it got covered with ice. It’s not new - it was pretty popular a while ago, but maybe somebody didn’t see it yet, it’s a very Russian thing.

Ice… that explains a bit… but strangely other cars seems to brake without ice related problems…?

The bus passengers has had a trip of their life… :O

    2. Dmitry says:

The explanation with ice is almost like this site…
I think anybody who has even a small expirience in car driving can easily find the answer for all these accidents.

Please start the discussion that Russians drink vodka as water. It’s so funny :)

I am Russian, but now I am living outside Russia. And I count my words: Russian drivers not as bad as drivers from many other countries.

    3. Hannes says:

This was seen also in Finnish TV. We have here a TV show called “Wild videos from Russia”.

    4. 4emist says:

Oh. THere was no ice in the tunnel. It’s just the longest tunnel in moscow, it’s called “lefortovsky”. This is not a record of 1 day. It’s just compilation of crashes (during a long time).

    5. Pappa says:

Several of those cars were trying to pass when they crashed. In America it there is a serious penalty to be paid if you attempt to overtake (pass) another vehicle while driving through a tunnel. When traveling through tunnels no one ever tries to pass and speeds are restricted to a modest second or thrid gear speed.

    6. Jonny says:

Whats the name of the song in that video? Its pretty catchy!

    7. Julien says:

I was gonna say the same thing with the bus…what a ride.

hey whats the song ? not bad…

“In America it there is a serious penalty to be paid if you attempt to overtake (pass) another vehicle while driving through a tunnel. When traveling through tunnels no one ever tries to pass and speeds are restricted to a modest second or thrid gear speed.”

I don’t think anyone gives a flying fuck about traffic regulations in Russia, and police can be persuaded to look at matters from your viewpoint with a few 10-dollar banknotes.

    9. Anya says:

This song is “Avalon” by Juliet

    10. Dee Bee says:

“”Several of those cars were trying to pass when they crashed.”"

It wasn’t the cars that were trying to pass that crashed, but the ones that were being passed and were trying to get out of the way of the assholes who cut them off while passing.

    11. dafdd says:

Song is Avalon-Juliet. Mixed by some Dj don’t know who. Sorry.

    12. illlich says:

To paraphrase Homer Simpson : “The best part was when the cars crashed!”

I tend to ignore admin when he states “it’s a very Russian thing”– Russian language is a very Russian thing, tea from a samovar is a very Russian thing, balalaika is a very Russian thing– car crashes are a universal thing. That said, I do get enjoyment out of the posts here most of the time, whether they are “Russian” or not.

    13. I’ve seen this video 8 times now but still love it. Dig the retro music, too.

    14. Holy shit. Well, there is no denying that - our drivers are reckless as hell. I`m would be glad about those crashes if they had not involved other people - lawful drivers and innocent pedestrians and passangers - because those crashes would have reduced those idiots to extinction.

    15. BigDog says:

How does ice get inside a tunnel?

    16. Julien says:

bigdog lets suppose its raining or snow is melting due to salt in the street before the entry of the tunnel. the tires of the cars absorbs the water and wet the road in the tunnel. when the temperature fall the wet road in the tunnel ices pretty quickly…

      thanks dafdd for the song

    17. Huh says:

“In America it there is a serious penalty to be paid if you attempt to overtake (pass) another vehicle while driving through a tunnel. When traveling through tunnels no one ever tries to pass and speeds are restricted to a modest second or thrid gear speed.”

You’ve never been to Boston, have you?

    18. ch says:

Doesnt look like ice - looks like careless drivers overspeeding or falling asleep.

    19. jimmy says:

      at the one-minute mark:

is that a truck coming THROUGH the wall to hit another truck?!!

where did that truck come from?!

    20. Eskafolon says:

It not the ice, there is not present an ice.
They are drivers, Berserkers from the Hell.
In this tunnel it is impossible to exceed speed, differently accident with loss of management of the car.

    21. When the admin says “it’s a very Russian thing”, I understand it is not about the accidents. He is talkking about the fact of HIDING INFORMATION is a very Russian thing. I understood this.

    22. Thomas says:

The bus driver did a pretty good job to avoid a catastrophe. From what I gathered the left side at the back only made contact.

    23. calin says:

The bus is the best part.

    24. Erki says:

Is there some kind of salt and sand shortage in Russia??
