That’s a typical day in Moscow city subway. Ok, maybe not typical for all Moscow subway but there are some narrow places so when the peak traffic happens people have to move like that.
If you haven’t see here are some more shots from Moscow subway.
It’s pity the video is without a sound, it was made by cam phone.

crazy…but look at the “chandelier” style light fixtures and other details. One of the most beautiful undergrounds in the world, and one of the deepest (your ears pop on the escalators). It used to be illegal to take pictures in the subway (state secret, don’t you know).

it’s not typical
Ah, brings back happy memories.
Of course, that’s winter, with all the coats on. Try it in summer, as crowded as that, in the second or third week of the hot water being off for maintenance. Adds a certain piquancy to the aroma!

Trust me, on some stations it’s always like that during rush-hours. And people don’t get killed or even injured, because they’re used to it, they know how to deal with it. And shouting “bomb” wouldn’t work either, nobody would even notice that.
RODRIGO: Before Putin was elected, everybody said “it’s not possible” for Russia to choose a proud KGB spy as president. But Russia is a land where all kinds of impossible things can happen.
The reason for these images is quite simple: Russia is a society that simply couldn’t care less about the value of individual human lives. Even if every person in that crowd had been killed, no reform steps would be taken, the society would just shrug its shoulders and say “so what?”
As you can see, not one commenter proposes any solutions to this problem or points to any public official who should be called to account.
Moscow Subway Human Traffic Jam…
Now seriously, we thought traveling on mass rapid transit systems was a pain in the ass mainly because you had to run through the heavy crowd and sniff around smelly armpits when everyone is on their way home.

Well I guess the station could be Prospekt Mira on the circle line. Yes, this station is very crowded, but I didn’t saw such a big crowd. Maybe a train was not working or something like this. Try to imagine, what happen it one of the metro trains brake during rush hour. They really work in two minutes rhytm.
That’s why some of my friends don’t like moscow metro.
But I am already used, to this.
