Leonid Baranov Paintings of Russian Countryside
Leonid Baranov is an artist from Ekaterinburg city who draws the modern life in Russian village.
Heroes of his works look like real people from Russian countryside.
He never became famous or rich, and he prefers to drink a lot of vodka as a real Russian and doesn’t care much about the missing fame.
Still in his pictures I find something attractive.

That’s a police car probably.

NO! It is UAZ !
It is a police car “U.A.Z.”
Cool pictures.
But at the contry dont seem young man.
All young people going in to St. Peterberg or Moscow.
what’s this? the hobbit land?
He is bit famous, he made a statue of Czar Peter in our city.
Nice pictures. it remindes me of illustrations from old russian books for children (some tails probably).
Hey i’m waiting for russophobe to write something horrible about russian villages or smth else. COMMON BABY I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT
Typical Russian theft– these scenes are STOLEN from the work of Pieter Bruegel and Norman Rockwell!! This is why Russians will never amount to anything, constant theft of others work and claiming it as their own! And who would want to look at scenes of filthy Russian peasants except other filthy Russians, who can’t even afford to buy these painting?! A waste of good canvases!! Why not paintings of REAL Russian scenes, like serial killer Andrei Chikatilo killing prostitutes on the streets of Rostov-on-Don, or Putin raping a goat!! You idiots will never learn!!
(haha, –i)
I think the second picture down would have been better without the jeep. It looks out of place.
Fuck! Where is La Russophobe with stupid text about Russia?:O
The third picture reminds me of the Swedish(?) book The Tomten, about a mysterious farm sprite. Anyone else see the connection?
It is drawn beautifully.
But it is too naive. The author is far from people and Russian Village.
It is sad.
Beautifull…
But it is far from reality.
1. Nowadays practically everybody has mobilephone in the village, and of course nobody dresses like that. This is the picture of 50s may be.
2. There was something about, tha all russians drink a lot of vodka - hahaha, no.
3. I think this car is really the policecar. Anyway, it looks like it is.
4. Samovar???? People use teapots.
5. The houses are setuated anotherway.
“But at the contry dont seem young man.
