Future of Russia’s Automobile Industry

This post is devoted to possible future of Russia’s automobile industry.

Some years ago a new car “OKA” was introduced to Russian buyers. That’s a 2-doors car compiled from the parts of other cars, for example its cockpit and speedometer is from Soviet car LADA 2101, model 1969. Its engine has two cylinders, like a motorcycle.

So now there are plenty of possibilities how this car can be used. Let’s see some of them.

Some people are not satisfied with a motorcycle engine (I can understand them!) so they insist on putting extra horsepowers.

Some say that traffic jams in Moscow are too hard for them to handle so it could be better if the car could fly. And if it could fly then why not to carry some air-ground missiles on board?

Russian emergency services agree and would order the flying ones for their needs.

With some slight wing modification it can gain more air speed.

Others say that they need an air-cushion.

Some dream of Alfa-Romeo.

Banks also want this car for money collection.

And Russian scientists are interested in turning the OKA car into deep water discovery unit.

Russian beer manufacturers say that they can use it for beer delievery.

And some of their East-European colleagues agree that it’s a good idea.

Russian fishing lovers would like to turn it also to a boat.

That can help them with their fishing.

And Russian road constructors can also find a way to use the car.

It has been said that Russian blondes who love the pink have put their hearts on OKA from the first site.

Russian travellers ordered hundreds of mobile travelling unit.

And Russian farmers would like to have such a cool harvester.

This is a ralling prototype that’s already hit the road together with some bigger cars.

It has been said that Russian UN lobby insist of arming UN forces with OKA.

Because Russian marines have already got the first “OKA military 288 edition” with a machine gun.

Russian builders are interested in heavy construction work with OKA.

And Russian Hummer lovers club offered their own modification.

Russian airports soon probably would have the OKA ladder.

Oh, they have already got some.

Serving them pretty well.

And Russian racing team hired best foreign engineers for building OKA Racing 1.

Russian Marlboro which is called “Sigarety” would like to deliever their goods with OKA.

And for lovers of shopping at malls there is a shopping basket combined with OKA. The rear suspension is taken from the shopping basket ™ also.

Why not to have a delievery van made from OKA?

Or OKA that can go both directions, depending on the traffic situation and the mood of the driver.

Russian Santa could also be interested in OKA if the deers got tired or at strike.

OKA can be even more smaller.

And this is a must for long Russian winters when some Russian roads are totally covered with snow.

That’s for the same purpose but for a different application.

The OKA limo can serve well for some ex-USSR countries like Kazakhstan or Ukraine.

And they didn’t forget Russian bikers too.

Russian army has got also another modification of OKA - the oka anti-aircraft complex.

The OKA could be also widely used as a one-passenger taxi - there is a plenty of space for one, very luxurious armchair can be installed and there can be gained a lot of space for leg stretching.

Russian railroads also think about getting some OKA for their mysterious purposes.

And Russian truckers say that in nowadays growing traffic a small OKA based truck is a must.

But as in every society, in modern Russia there are ones who are not satisfied with OKA being such a small car. They want to stretch it in American style. Just like this.

Admin is talking bullshit, as usual. Oka’s engine (750 cc) was one half of the Lada 2108 engine (1500 cc), but nowadays production of engines without electronic fuel injection is forbidden, so Oka cars are equipped with some foreign engines. Nothing common with motorcycles, btw. On the old ones speedometer really was from Lada 2101 (but not the whole cockpit!), but nowadays there are a new interior. AND OKA IS PRODUCED SINCE 1987, so it wasn’t “introduced some years ago”. Though this car looks rather funny it’s the only solution for poor people, because it’s the cheapest car available in Russia. And these pictures are just joke.

Very interesting. No relation, I guess to the Australian Oka. Perhaps they can work on an exchange program?

Dudes! Grolsch is Dutch beer! ;-)

Very cool lineup, this looks like some kind of visualisation course for industrial design students.

    6. Dido says:

Wow whoever made all those pictures has way too much damn time on his hands. That was really stupid. I hate people who make fun of Russian productions and such. They’re poor. Life there is entirely different. But it is plenty of fun. Compared to America, it gives you a feel of despair and pity, but it can be loads of fun. I’m not 100% sure about Russia but I know Bulgaria where I was born which was also formerly communist.
