Russian IT Calendar Styled to Soviet Posters
This is a calendar published in Russia.
It was styled to old style Soviet posters but with IT thematic.
Also a poetic slogans are added to each image styled to Soviet era drive poetry.
“I don’t visit any more rally!
Now the webcam is my ally!”
This thing on the table is “Samovar”. It was a traditional Russian water boiler for making a tea.
“You’ll get a full house
If you’ll get yourself an optic mouse!”
“Tough guys are now not from Denver (Sever)
Tough guys now have a good server!”
“A Computer is like a kiddie
Provide him with some uninterrupted feeding!”
“Worked hard at night till an end whistle?
Don’t forget to get yourself a Vista!’
Note a Windows sign on the machine.
“Your connection is broke by an office-cleaner?
Get your self a wireless spinner!”
“Want to revenge to a neighbour dog?
By 1 kilowatt speakers from our shop!”
“Want to be in a progress stream?
Buy a printer and eat the cream!”
“International workers and Internet –
Those words have the common roots
Lenin and server is going to get
All the living goods!”
Lenin should be a Quake fan. There are 3 Quake logos on the picture.
“Want to join the race?
Get the best video card and see the grace!”
“Don’t go to the club at night!
Better get dvd and cd tonight!”
“Stop wasting to the ladies your bucks!
Better get the printer and fax!”
Probably if they could provide an English translated version of this calendar they could get a much bigger market for it.

I would translate “miting” as “meeting”, not “rally”. For example:
At meetings I no longer fidget
Through my webcam I now bridge it
Also, “klaviatura” is very definitely “keyboard”, not “spinner”.

I suspect that “North” (”Sever”, “Север”) is a brand of cigarettes, a little finer than typical proletarian “Belomor”.

I know it sounds better when it rhymes but when you translate it incorrectly it just doesnt make sense.
Translation is not word-by-word, but it is perfect!

Computer Humor is mixed with Soviet-Folk type of Russian Lingo that is very endearing… But, if RHYME is not a requirement, here is a closer translation:
“I don’t hang at the meetings (yes, rallies…) anymore”
I lovingly gaze upon the meetings (yes, rallies…) via Web Cam
But, either way… I LOVE these Flyers/Posters… Really adorable, CLEVER stuff that packs a LOT of MEANING!!!
