Russian Armaments Exhibition

The formal procedure of the Exhibition opening was started with a grand marching of girls wearing hussar costumes. Before the show began any one could look at the displays – the creations of Russian plants were right at the allotted spot, and there one could see not only the weapon of destruction, but totally peaceful tractors and excavators as well. The interesting part is that the most of the technical units in it are similar to those used in war machines.

One of the weapon machines is the Engineer Machine for Obstacle Clearing, it removes blockages and various stuff like hedgehog devices on the way of an armored column. Apart from this kind of obstacles, it very easily gets rid of aggressive ones standing on its way.

The Bridge Construction Tank can build a special bridge for heavy equipment to move along it. The total length of the bridge is a bit more than 18 meters, that won’t do if you are going to force a crossing over a wide river, but still it perfectly works for small rivers and swamps.
The Combat Tank Support Vehicle, a high-powered machine that can aim and shoot at shoot at three object at a time: with a machinegun at people, with rockets at big objects and with large-calibre ack-ack guns at flying objects. Of course, they didn’t demonstrate how most of it shot, because it would be both very expensive and far.

Of course, there were lots of other fabulous things, but watching it is worth many words.
The show was started with all aircrafts were low-flying at an elevation of 200 meters over the tribunes. Those who at least once happened to be at such a show would understand the feeling of a person, who sees a giant machine in just a few dozens of meters above him.
After performing all those barrel rolls, loops and other acrobatic maneuvers, the fighters got ready for debunching, performing various aerobatics operations they got very close to trees and could be seen very well from the tribunes.

A commander of the group sharply flew up above the skies and held it still and then sharply flew down, shooting at the aims.
Of course, at the opening of the exhibition there was a usual gunshot and cutting of the red ceremonial opening ribbon.

After the formal things were over some of the machines demonstrated what they could. At last one of the tanks (it was Т-90) fired a lout shot to keep the spectators active, then two other things (armored artillery weapon and armored tracked chassis) came out to show what they can.

At the very end of the show people were shown the famous trick – a bottle of champagne was attached to one bucket of an excavator, and on the bucket of another excavator there were two glasses, and the driver of the first vehicle was to fill them up with the help of the bucket and dexterity.

The show was finished with demonstrative bombing of the Sukhoi Su-24.
Russia was demonstrating its strength again. If you are still not afraid of all this stuff in the pics, go to the following exhibition and get ready to be full of respect for Russia, at least, while all these giant iron things will be flying above.

First!
Nice armored vehicles!
This post reminds me the Lord of War movie…
Bravo!
More posts like this one! Keep it up!
Nice armours and mechanical stuffs but i would like to say that, almost all of these displayed stuff is belong to USSR era.hardly to see any thing newer in this exhibition.why???i don`t know, can any one add more on that? ? ?
Nothing unusual about that. Military technology is nearly always old stuff that gets upgraded. Even the US army uses weapons and vehicles from the 60’s and 70’s today. To keep the military equipped with something that’s been designed recently all the time would be a huge cost, not to mention the fact that you’d constantly be using unfamiliar things with greater potential for as-of-yet undiscovered problems.
soviet propaganda!
respect? … gimme a break!
I really wants to import some of their utility trucks into the United States because they looks cool.
is this a german uniform in pic7 - the tow guys with the red bartes? i think it is … the camoufage looks very german …
oh and russian air-shows are always great! just wow!
They are local winos who were issued second-hand German “peavine” cammos (8 EUR trousers, 5 EUR blouse, 3 EUR beret, 10 EUR boots) to make an impression (the target were the Haute Volta buyers) that NATO is all eager to buy the Russian junk.
Russia is one of the biggest weapon-dealers in the world!!! We are proud!! We sell weapons to other countries like in Africa and with the money we can finance our own purchases !! War is costly!! In Georgia we could not have lasted much longer than we did because we simply cannot afford it !! No cash!! No skilled officers !!
Now government is going to kick out 133000 officers in the next few years. Most of these are old farts warming up a chair and doing each-other favors !! BLAT !! They should go and we should have a professional army like in the West !! Motivated peoples !! No longer hunting 18-year-olds on the street and making them build dacha’s for their commanding officers while they are drafted !! Tecniq is nice but people are more important! Our peoples suck big time!! Big hats on fat necks, that is the situation now. Will change fast!
You must be a Georgian boy since you call that little game the Russians played in Georgia a WAR. What war? It was a seek and hide funny game loved by every kid. When 9000 Russian troops drunk as usual, poorly equipped totally disabled military wise and practically illiterate were looking everywhere for 30000+ Georgian warriors to play with. Due to lack of sophisticated electronics the Russians used stone era gun sights thus they managed to find just a few dozen abandoned tanks and some other toys that the Georgians grew bored to play with. But no soldiers. The Georgians were too smart for the dumb Russians. They were trained by the NATO standards so - engaging an opponent wasn’t in their dictionary. So there was no war. So - what’s all the fuss about?
I do not know. I make no fuss but you do. Russia is great!!! In Georgia Russian officers had to use their own cell-phones to call to HQ, [at their own expenses of course - and the salary is like 300-700 dollars p/month] because Russian communications network was not functioning [like last 10 years I think]. Stil!!!!!
And they still use Molotov cocktail too. They wrap it in some tin foil and make it look like a scary rocket. But we all know - those dumb Russians can’t make shit. So it must be Molotov cocktail.
The Russians haven’t been spending tons of money on their military - that’s true. They had a strangest idea that not many nations would try to challenge them on their home turf, and since they’ve managed to get rid of the Marxists - there would be no reason to go and fight abroad. Military spending is like a narcotic you get hooked and you can’t get off. It took a collapse of the system for the Russians to realise that. The USSR decided to split up with a national debt about $180bn. Russia still has plenty of military toys left since and it tries to get something new gradually. And surprisingly the Russians still manage to make some good military toys. But it’s more healthier for the economy to sell them abroad and make some bucks on that then waste your money and keep them. That policy is not liked by the military folks in Russia and it’s being made fun of by plenty of idiots from the West. That’s ok. Russia still has a few AK47 left in the army so they should be all right. The US is spending zillions on their gizmos and they have debt which requires $180bn annually just to service it. The Russians have had their share of military race they can just wait and keep teir AKs intact.
dude, stop making up numbers, $180bn in debt for the USSR and $180bn of maintenance cost for USA weaponry?what a coincidence, huhh?
Damn
I knew I was gonna get caught red-handed.
Again.
Damn…
You’re right I was making the numbers up. No idea why. It just comes naturally after spending a few minutes on the English Russia.
In fact interest expense for the US national debt in 2008 fiscal year was just over $451bn. It should be a bit more in 2009. http://www.treasurydirect.gov/govt/reports/ir/ir_expense.htm
As for the USSR debt at the moment of the collapse - from my memory it should be between $150-180bn. Too lazy to look up for that. If you’ll find different data good on you - that would expose my lying nature again.
I was saying that the USA has national debt which requires $180bn annually to service it. Nothing about the weaponry maintenance.
In fact the interest the US paid servicing it’s national debt in 2008 fiscal year was just over $450bn.
Nice antique stuff.
Ну и чё не продемонстрировали такие силы в Грузии, а?
Сейчас не то время, чтобы всё это демонстрировать. Где ж они были прошлое лето во время открытия летних олимпиад?

Seems like they’ve got tonnes of money. So why are all the roads no damn good? Shame on them.
look at the pictures - russians build their military machines to go without roads… you build your machines to be comfortable… no roads in russia… keep thinking my friend…
Rail lines are more important and those are looking better.
the Russian military complex at its best.
Yea, what will mighty ruskies do with all this stuff when they dont even have roads where to drive these. For my point of view, Medjev/Putin (its the same, Putin is behind all anyways) is just another Josif Stalin who is trying to bully western world and show the might of mother russia. In the expense of his own people of course. History repeat itself, sadly. This is just pure circus, you should see the real condition of russian army, its far away from this.
Dildo,
You are a moron. The circus is your space shittle junk, your troops in Afghan are clowns (just imagine if Talibs have even an old Soviet weapon i.e. Strela, Igla) When it comes to war everything is solves by reliability and whose nut is stronger. Did you ask yourself why NATzO troops in Afghan prefer Russian helos Mi-8 and Mi-26?
Pivo, no you are moron. Did i ever mention that im from usa? No i didn’t and im not from there. Im not speaking about how famous weapon the kalashnikov (wich is by the way direct copy from german STG-44) or any other weapon, i was talkin about CONDITION of your army, not the vehicles. I know many pepople from NATO and KFOR troops and I’ve heard quite colourful stories about russian drunken “peace”keeping officers and troops driving BMP’s on neutral zone, endangering lives of civilians. After you guys start to live sober, then maybe one day you’ll pose a threat to the world.
Russians are a misbehaving lot - rude and anti-social. When Medvedev cam to Amsterdam to open the Hermitage there [june 2009] one of his aides was arrested and fined for assaulting and raping a hotel employee. No-one from the Russian delegation thought this was weird behaviour. Knowing that every hour (!!!!) a Russian woman is killed because of domestic violence I am not surprised.
Hey Dildo.
I’m with you on that one. You’re absolutely right. Those fu..ng Russians get drunk every time they get bored. And they’re always bored. “Russian peacekeepers” - never heard anything funnier than that. Jeez.
Man you get to talk to the NATO and KFOR boys. That’s cool man. They are cool people too. The Russians are just jealous. It’s been a while since they were allowed to kill anybody just for fun. They used to drink and go around killing people for fun. Now the NATO boys get to kill and the Russians just jealous. Fucking pigs. Their time is over. It’s NATO time now. So - they just drink and roam around in BTRs unable to fire a damn rifle, poisoned by the thought that the NATO boys get to kill hundreds of thousands unarmed civilians. And the NATO boys do it being absolutely sober. What a training. What a discipline.

I don’t really think of Russia as a country but like another planet. If I went here it would be like a voyage to the moon or Mars or something. Yes. I think so. People look different and drive strange cars, and fly wierd planes that sound wierd. It’s not a slam, it actually fascinating. Russia is so different in most ways, it’s another planet!
15th! Woot teh winnar
What a bunch of shit ! This is like manufacturing museum pieces. Either Putin is keeping the improved stuff out of the show and away from prying media eyes or Russia really is in a serious productivity deficit. Third World country in Africa or maybe even Cuba will buy this but why, when you can go to Taiwan or S. Korea and purchase state-of-the-art equipment for a fraction of the price.
Too bad. Because Soviet Russia had a real engineering toe-hold on the West. Obviously that advantage has long since disappeared.
Thank’s Misha.
Following your advice I just went to S. Korea and indeed purchased a state-of-the-art equipment for a fraction of a Russian tank’s price. It’s a washing machine. It’s perfect and I love it. I’m so exited. My next trip is to Taiwan for a state-of-the-art iPod.
I want to see T95 early!!
It’s cheaper and stronger than M1
russian combat doctrine is different than that of the west. One only needs to look at the difference between the AK and M-16. ( lets not start that argument over which is better) One is for troops of one level of training, and the other is for a different level or training.
Anyway. I’d like to apologize to all the people on this forum, because for the last few posts - I’ve been saying complete shit about Russians and Russia. I have to admit - I was a little drunk. The fact is - I am very jealous of Russians because they are wild, wise, and intellectually layered people. They drink, and yet they invent the table of elements, laser eyes surgery - to correct pilots vision, and produce some of the best writers in the world, as well as athletes.
So, I guess, I’M SORRY to all of you for saying all that bad stuff, and now, as a tribute to Russia and Russians, and the old Russian Empire, here goes;
Seems like I’ve got a twin… not sure twin who brother or sister… Still - have to admit it feels good. Never had a twin… not even a dog who wanted to pretend that he was me. No canary wanted to impersonate me…
A real twin…
Jeez.
That feel good.
Arms of Russia demonstrate a big effect by the affordable system minimal.
For instance, AK.
It is natural that the United States where a lot of money exists can develop high-tech weapons.
I got tired of a high-tech German car and a Japanese car. I want to meet a Russian car of the concept like AK.
If it is a strong car in the refined simple system, I want to buy it even if it is somewhat high. An old Japanese car and Shinkansen were developed by the engineer of the fighter and the bomber. It gets good mileage a fighter and a Japanese car of old Japan.
Russia should move a military technology to the private company.
Russian UAZ cars is getting popularity in Japan today. No shit !
yesyes I know it

old soviet junk. I’d personally be embarassed to show off the antique crap like that.
I think that chapagne thing with bulldozers is kinda cute..
ugly metal junk,
NATO rules
NATO rules with M113 IFV junk? If you say so. yxaxa
