Soviet Propaganda Against USA (posters) Part 2
As promised today comes the next part of Soviet posters.
Some people ask to be more exact about the dating of each poster, but it’s almost impossible, they come from personal collections and go without a date.

Soviet army participated in the Afghanistan war in 80s, and Soviet propaganda points here on the source of funding for those who oposed Soviet army in Afghanistan. I think that was not far away from truth, remember that Rambo the Last movie, or it has been said that Osama was the main heroe of Afghani war.

“We sow Peace! They sow Death! Two Worlds - Two Plans!”, an American part of the poster, the lower one depicts “locations for army bases”

This is how USA makes Third World countries to be entirely dependent on them.

Uncle Sam offers to Pentagon a plate with the sign “Increasing Strategic Weapons”, Pentagon does not mind to have it.

It’s self depictive.

Again two worlds two plans. “We turn deserts to the blooming land” and “They turn the cities to a desert”.

“American Sort of Freedom”

No need to translate..

“The purpose of Capitalism is always the same: Exploitation. Oppression. War. So that suffering and poor people bring it maximum profit”

“One more turn and…”

Neutron Pigeon of Peace

In the USA there is a: “Road of a Talent”, a grayscaled part of an image, in Russia there is “Road to Talent”.

“Peoples of the world don’t want the war to be repeated!” cited Stalin.

“Business based on blood and poverty”

Vietnam: This is how USA exports human rights.

“American Bludgeon a Solution for a World Market”

“Sphere of USA Vital Interests”

“Neutron Poison”

“We want to build, not to destroy!”

“Stop militarisation of space!”

“European Community - Smiling at Each Other but a knife beneath a back”

“Stop militarisation of space!” Again.

This one is from 1928, shows how foreign capitalists don’t believe in 5 year plan of improving of the Soviet industry.

Some sort of bombs and American symbolics…

“Death to the Imperialism Worldwide!”

“Stop!”

[...] A fascinating collection of old Soviet political posters are on display at English Russia, an up-and coming blog that does a superb job at captuing snippets of Russian history; history of the past and that which is being made now. [...]
Really impressive. That is what’s going on now with capitalized xUSSR
I’m not sure what that one with the bombs and “american symbolics” is supposed to mean, but I’m guessing the “N” and “H” stand for “Neutron” (or perhaps “Nuclear”)and “Hydrogen.”
I would guess that the “stop militarization of space” posters came much later (Reagan-era “Star Wars” problems). Interesting also that these particular posters were aimed at Russians, when they should have been aimed at Americans (what good is it for the Soviet Government to ask Soviet citizens to “stop militarization of space”?)

La siempre ocurrente propaganda de la Unión Soviética. Aparece en English Russia, un divertido blog con fotografías de Rusia que hace honor a su lema: “Porque algo cachondo ocurre cada día en una sexta parte de la superficie de……
Regarding the first poster and your questions about the Afghan war, you do not need to go to Rambo to find the truth. “Charlie Wilson’s War” is written by an award-winning American journalist and describes in complete detail, with quotes and de-classified information, how the United States funded the Mujaheddin through Pakistan. Of course it is our fault- and of course, we know it. It is not just movies, it is totally true. Plus the book is really good. You would enjoy it.
Thanks for the posters.
Now that’s a nice collection! Despite some of the translations being a bit off (for ex., the ‘Dorogu talantam’ thing, translated here as ‘Road to Talent’, is more like a command: ‘Give way to talents!’ or something like that, my English is not that good). However, I really liked it, made me remember how it was back then… Nice job.
@ ilyich “Interesting also that these particular posters were aimed at Russians, when they should have been aimed at Americans (what good is it for the Soviet Government to ask Soviet citizens to “stop militarization of space”?) ”
Well, its not as if USSR government/military didnt wánt to militarize space, but they couldnt truly compete with USA on that. Of course they could never admit such thing to the public. So i think the made this propaganda poster to show the russian people thats military in space is bad, make USA look evil and let USSR safe its face.
It was million years ago… CRAP! Anything new?
Hellen, it was about twenty years ago and I remember it well. (the equivalent anti-soviet nonsense from this ’side’) We’d all do well to remember… things forgotten are liable to be repeated!
Hellen… it was only twenty years ago. If you forget this stuff it could happen again. New is good, but don’t forget important history!
You are right. Reagan’s programm of ’star wars’ (little bluffing) it was the main reason of the communist system collapsing. It was time when Polish Solidarity movement was breaking the communist conception where hard power hold the society (probably, when that occurrence were in Carter era, in Poland would be a ‘brother aid’ of Red Army).
Propaganda sovietica contra USA…
“libertad al pueblo de Chile” ”Estamos contigo, Vietnam”.
La influencia de las nuevas tendencias pictoricas y el avance en la composición a principios…
You Tell lies you, these photo and drawings with USSR else,we and without they know that you devils and Second world war have won we,rather then you
On the poster with French workers quitting Nato - why the hell is Uncle Sam giving the French proletariat EGGS??? note how the honest worker is refusing everything - the North-Atlantic treaty assault rifle wrap as well as something something and EGGS.
WHY THE HELL EGGS?!?!
rogdar:
…because they’re tasty? : )
funny thing is, nowdays we see, that those posters are quite true after all

Even Americans now start to realize the shit they call country of freedom
USSR was doomed, but world should thank nations of USSR for keeping the wold in balance when USA had it all after WW2.
I was surprised to see “Vive l’USSR” in picture #14, it means “Long life to USSR” in french.
Flags seem to be written in several languages, to suggest that other countries support them.
I notice in the picture I see A lot off Jews look alike people..
with greedy face and how they dressed, it so Jews!
and 3 people who’s milking the Middle east blood and oil, absolutly jews.
I love Rusia as long as they Hate Jews..
WE WILL NEVER LIVE IN PEACE WITH THEM
THEY ONLY WAY IS FIGHT! TIL THE DEATH COME.
