Soviet Propaganda Against USA (posters)

In Soviet Russia there were a lot of propaganda posters against USA.

Here is a little collection of such Soviet art.

I splitted it to three parts, so today is the part 1.

anti usa soviet russia posters

This is a Black Sea and Uncle Sam is looking thru spyglass on USSR with a sign “Provocation” on it, standing on US ships. Uncle Sam was widely used to represent USA.

anti usa soviet russia posters

Here is Uncle Sam in he ring of nuclear bomb switches and from the loudspeaker it is said that “Soviet Union offers to stop nuclear weapon tests”.

anti usa soviet russia posters

The ladder has “NATO” sign.

anti usa soviet russia posters

There is written “A Road To Peace” on the white strip.

anti usa soviet russia posters

And on the Pentagon building there is written “Pentagon”

anti usa soviet russia posters

Can’t figure out exact sense from this one, but on the bottom there is written “Our children shouldn’t be the last generation on the EARTH”. USA is somehow might be guilty if it happens.

anti usa soviet russia posters

“What a Dangerous Madness”

anti usa soviet russia posters

“Same years but different weathers”, red bar on the thermometer is “Soviet Industry rate”, black one is “American Industry rate”, small text tells us that there has began an econom crisis and dislocation in USA.

anti usa soviet russia posters

Hard to understand the text, but there is something written about Uncle Sam and UN.

anti usa soviet russia posters

In USSR there are many many new schools, in USA - schools are being closed all the time.

anti usa soviet russia posters

This is how USA and allies milking blood and oil from Middle East. The continent is Middle East, and there is written “Here again blood and oil is being poured”.

anti usa soviet russia posters

“Victory of Vietnam is a Victory of Solidarity”

anti usa soviet russia posters

“Youth Exposes  Imperialism”, some of them hard to understand but they were everywhere in USSR.

anti usa soviet russia posters

This is how Uncle Sam and USA put their legs on Europe.

anti usa soviet russia posters

“Zero Solution”

anti usa soviet russia posters

Piece to Vietnam!

anti usa soviet russia posters

“Stop the Killers!” i.e. stop US AIR FORCE

anti usa soviet russia posters

“We are with you, Vietnam!”

anti usa soviet russia posters

“Freedom to the People of Chile”

anti usa soviet russia posters

This is how Uncle Sam and USA is exploiting labour of it servants, South America, Israel and some others.

anti usa soviet russia posters

“Humanitarian Help to Starving Ones in American Way”.

anti usa soviet russia posters

“The Myth and The Reality”

anti usa soviet russia posters

Self descriptive one.

anti usa soviet russia posters

Neutron and Atomic bombs are bad for piece.

anti usa soviet russia posters

American Bloody Eagle has a pieceful sing “I am a Pieceful Pigeon”

anti usa soviet russia posters

“Shame on America”, who knows what made this poster appear, probably something from news of that times.

anti usa soviet russia posters

“Is this a Freedom?”

anti usa soviet russia posters

“Capitalists from Worldwide, UNITE!” , despite the Soviet moto “Workers of All Countries, Unite!”

anti usa soviet russia posters

“Don’t Misbehave!”

anti usa soviet russia posters

Uncle Sam is doing a slalom across “Soviet Peacufl Initiatives”

There are plenty of more, but in order not to make this post to heavy I splitted them to three articles, to be continued tommorow.

      interesting. especially posters about vietnam

    3. W. Shedd says:

Very interesting collection - I’m curious when the “Black Sea Provocation” poster was made and the reasoning behind it.

    4. Braad Spitt says:

      Thanks!
I look forward to the rest of them.

    5. javier rojas says:

great posters, ¿any chance to know the date of each one?

    6. ilyich says:

“US and allies milking blood and oil from the middle east”– HA! (some things never change.)

Interesting that the USA didnt produce many similar posters during the cold war (or did they?)– I guess most American citizens already distrusted the USSR, didnt need to be reminded with posters.

      • Err..maybe? says:

idiot, do your research, OF COURSE USA used propaganda against USSR; otherwise USSR wouldnt be doing it fool.

        • ej says:

thats not true, u think someone does it only because someone else is doing it, i bet we didnt even see 9/10 of those posters during the cold war, like americans were going on vacation to the CCCP and vice versa, propaganda is a tool of war and manipulation, nothing more get it straight

        • DEW1937 says:

I never saw ANY posters against the USSR while growing up in the USA during the cold war. Most of that came out as political cartoons in US newspapers portraying Stalin as the villain, etc.

      • john novela says:

yes, we did, We did not need posters saying dont trust the USSR, we just didnt, after WW2 we took one look at Stalin and said there is no way he is going to be a friend.
The Korean war proved that right, and we became enemies. In a round-about way, I understand the USSRs taking control of countries after the war, and tryiung to turn countries(South Korea, China, South Vietnam and more Asian countries), because in order for a Socialist(or Communist) society to survive, the whole world needs to be Communist.
The USSR was trying to survive, but the government trampled all over the people it conquered(and most of its own) so the US tried to stop it so it wuld not harm any more people of the world.
Today, most Americans like the Russian Federation, and Im sure that you dont hate us either.
But we still dont trust your government, picking sides with an anti-American country, still friends with the anti-American China, and they themselves, still bitter freom the Cold War and not very US friendly.

        But kudos on Capitalism

        • Adam says:

Thats bullshit. The US was protecting it’s interests not “the people”. The government was scared of communism spreading to America, they couldn’t give a shit about people on the other side of the world.

          • misterboweh says:

Well actually, the government was fighting to make sure that communism didn’t spread to america because 1. they wanted to preserve their illusion of freedom, which for some reason makes ‘the people’ happy, and 2. They knew that communism was a sinking ship. Obviously, it sank, and no it wasn’t to SAVE THE RUSSIANS (god knows we hated them so much at the time), but saving our nation from all the bloodshed that a rebellion would cause in addition to the failed government that the USSR was. They may have gained something from this as well, but it was still for the american people.

        • Oscar says:

BULLSHIT! why would the US care bout the rest of the world?

          • Audry says:

If the US disn’t and doesn’t “care about the rest of the world” why does it have half a million soldiers in 120 countries?

            • hannes says:

this is what we call “imperialism” - The US is protecting it’s interests not “the people”. (as s.o. said before)

e.g. germany (where i live). believe me - we dont need american soldiers here….even if they dont bother anyone…we just do not care about them. let them play in the dirty and enjoy vacations with german beer ;)

      • none says:

Growing up as a child in the 70’s and 80’s in Canada i saw a lot propaganda in American movies and television shows of that era as well as the rhetoric of the presidents.

    7. Brad says:

The one with the caption “Neutron and Atomic bombs are bad for piece.”… the bombs, cross, and barbed wire spell out “NATO”

    8. Tom says:

      24.jpg spells NATO
Article on refers to the N A on the bombs meaning neutron and atom, they also refer to the first two letters of NATO.
The T and O are spelt with a cross and a bail of barbed wire.

Wow. This is so true even now.

    16. ILYICH: They didn’t produce any posters like this about Russia. Instead, they spent their time criticizing themselves and improving, so that now it is the world’s only superpower, while the USSR imagined itself perfect and disappeared. You’re right, some things never change. Even today, Russians are filled with blind hatred and jealousy of the USA, unable to recognize and reform their own faults, living in a dream world that inevitably will explode in their face.

      • Sergey says:

True, they didn’t produced posters; but they brainwashed thier citizens so hard, even today most Americans associate Russia with vodka, babushka’s and bears….so much for absense of posters.

“Russians are filled with blind hatred and jealousy” sounds like you’re describing your attitude toward russians.

As for superpower…well, it would be very interesting to hear what you say in about 10-15 years.

        • wheatpaste says:

I hate to tell you, Sergey, but the United States won’t fade as a world power in the next 10-15 years, nor will Russia regain its former world prominence. Russia has an economy approximately the size of the Netherlands, vast resources, but absolutely no ability to organize itself internally, and its size actually works against it. Russia is also shrinking, demographically, a problem resulting mostly from the country’s perrenial degradation and abuse of its own citizens, the nearly uninhabitable terrain that actually composes much of this vast territory, a nearly total lack of infrastructure, and culturally institutionalized despotism. I love Russia, and live in Russia. It won’t die out, but it’s going nowhere fast and will never again be a world power like it briefly was once.

The United States produced, La Russophobe, plenty of propaganda about Russia, but posters were never a primary means of communicating information in the US to the extent they were in Russia. For examples of propaganda, simply watch “Red Dawn.” The USA is hegemonic and abusive in the way it treats other countries, but the USA can also change quickly and adapt, as a result of overturn in leadership and a positive-thinking, innovative population. The USA is not “deteriorating,” and is in much better shape than it was in the 1970s. It’s just in poored shape than it was in the 1990s in many ways.

People on this forum should think before they post.

          • David says:

            Wheatpaste,
Those are excellent comments thank you.
Why are the russians still fighting with the USA???
There is NO reason! They are so eager to tell us how great there country is but not that the facts show it’s fading.
To much hate and to much propaganda!

          • Carlos says:

The posters from the USofA were made (and still are) by the thousands and have a name: films.
First was the poor indians, later the communists, the heroic people of Vietnam and everybody that opposes the empire.
For years and years I thought the Indians were the axis of evil. That was I saw in the screen ! The same with the rest.

        • AKLOKI says:

          IT DIDN’T TAKE 10-15 YEARS!

    19. cronos says:

USA may not have made posters like this about Russia, but they used movies to portray an ugly comunist Russia, in the same way Russia did in these posters.
      So nobody’s perfect…

    20. Sarah says:

Can’t help but agree with most of these. One wonders if Russia has a point? Frankly I believe there’s a huge difference between Propaganda and Truth. This sounds like the old adage “many a true word spoken in jest”
      Sarah From South Africa

    21. CRONOS: Russia also made movies that attacked the US. US movies about Russia cannot possibly be put in the same class. Something like Comrade X or Ninochka don’t have anything remotely like the same savage quality of hatred that these posters depict. And the main point is that Russians spent all their time attacking America and none reforming their own faults, with the result being the total failure of their civilization.

SARAH: Are you saying you’d prefer to live in Russia than in the United States? Would you approve of such posters being made about South Africa (they easily could be)? Isn’t there plenty of evidence that South Africa is an evil, racist state?

    22. tieze says:

      @russophobe –> McCarthyism
The usa didn’t have an all-encompassing anti-ussr campaign? Come now, you can’t be serious. Read up on your history.

    23. It was many years ago, but it’s still important. Nothing changes. USA and NATO is a biggest agressor in the world.

    24. écureuil says:

The poster “Shame on America” (ПОЗОР АМЕРИКИ) is mistranslated. It should actually read: “Shame OF America” and is probably refering to segregation, ladies and gentlemen.

Interesting posters … some of the comments from people here are typical. If any of these were true, the U.S. would be governing the world by now, or would have wiped it out some years ago with nuclear weapons. The ultimate truth is that in the U.S. there are posters for either side under a veil of free speech, even if one side is lying. In Russia, the government controlled such propaganda, so there is only one side … anti-USA. If you can’t see that now after all of these years, then you must be falling for the posters…

    28. Sarah says:

Do you not realise it is no longer the USSR? Things have changed mate!! they don’t control as much as your government does! Try living in another part of the world and see the manipulation Bush has on us all! he wants full control of the world regardless of how we feel. He is confronting resistance hence his self made wars.

      • George says:

I agree that the USA has it’s fair share of problems, but at least we have the opportunity to speak our minds without agencies like the KGB placing wiretaps on our phones and being sent to hard labor in Siberia for protesting the government.

Why do you think the USSR collapsed after 1991, and we’ve been a country since the late 1700’s? Communism is a form of government that is destined to fail because it places too much control in the hands of a few greedy government officials.

I look forward to what’s going to happen when the repressive regimes of Kim Jong Il and Fidel Castro collapse, comrade.

Even George Bush will be gone by January 2009.

Capitalism is far from perfect, but it’s the best system of government we have today. At least we have a system of checks and balances to keep one man or woman from gaining too much power.

    29. Patrick says:

Sarah, I doubt that the Whitehouse could care less what a blog has on it’s site. You hit the nail on ths head when you said he is trying to rule the world. The US gov has much bigger thing’s to take care of than to care about some posters that are very funny to start with.
I am an American and I thought they were all very entertaining. This goes to show you how little we know about each other.

    30. hazzamanazz says:

Let’s no forget that CCCP and USA are diferent sides from the same coin.

So…don’t try to fooling me, ok?

      Nice posters, BTW.

    31. Eric says:

You’re right Sarah … be careful what you type. The government is watching you. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAhhhhhhhhhhh … they got me. LOL

Now seriously … no shit Sarah, I realize these posters were from long ago, that’s why I was using past tense when talking about Russia/USSR, or whatever you would like to call it. The evidence is that after all these years, we can look at these posters and laugh.

I’m not even sure that you are worth addressing since your comments about the government controlling us are so whacked, but I’m going to try to educate you. I’m guessing you are in your low 20’s or younger and you are very much interested in liberal arts or some other fluffy subject. We have girls like you here too, believe it or not. They haven’t all been sent to the gas chamber yet by our controlling government …

Some points with respect to USSR vs US propaganda. For me the difference is quite clear, you are blind if you not seeing it. USSR propaganda were moreless related to US regime not US people, independently of the level of lie and hate depicted.
But look to “Rambo” style US movies produced not only in time when USSR existed. When I was watching such movies it was very strange why there is so much hostality and detestation with respect to Russian/USSR nation, not to regime, exactly to the people. I was trying to recal with no success anything produced in the USSR which also presented US people/citizens as a jerks which existence is a mistake of a nature, like it was done in US “highly artistic” movies.
And I was amazed what US propaganda did to these people in order to produce such things. Raised stereotypes by propaganda now are living on their own and many people posting here just guided by those.

Bit strong, in fact, certainly in recent history (say the last 20 years) I can only see evidence of NATO stepping in to counter aggression (i.e. the former Yugoslav Republic, the Gulf War etc).

That being said, as part of art and world history, these images are fascinating, thanks for keeping them and now sharing.

I remember the ‘mild’ version of last tens of years of communist system in Poland.

I have not observed any anti-Soviet/anti-Russian posters in America or United Kingdom.
It is my opinion that Americans would prefer to cultivate good relations and trade with a nation than to spend money on war preparations. However, this also shows that the will of the people is not necessarily always reflected by the will of the peoples’ government (whomever those people are).

    50. Nikita says:

      2 chamamesoldier: absolutely correct!

About Trevor0989 - the most common position of uneducated americans, thinking that all the world’s might is in their hands and hands of government behind them, and that that’s why they don’t need to know anything more than what surrounds them. They can’t educate themselves on any world-history aspects other than their damn Civil War, Great Depression and Vietnam War, because - oh! - their time is too important for that! They’d better smoke crack, than find out what truly lies behand their history. The nation with ideological thinking that it is a ruler above all other slave-nations. And where are these so god-damn cultivated democracy principles?! - I ask you!

All this system is rotten and now is the time for another change in the world. All the empires fall, for Christ’s sake!

I truly contemn people like Trevor0989. By the way, I am from Moscow - how many words can you say on my language, you, all-knowing prick?

    51. Nikita says:

2 Trevor0989: By the way, we still have our missles which make any of modern Missle Defense system senseless. So please cease your shouts, boy

      • Martin says:

Nikita, the United States is an isolated country, culturally speaking, and cannot be expected to concern itself with the traditions in histories of Europe for the most part.

What you have to understand is that the Civil War, Great Depression, etc. are events that were enormously devestating and powerful on our society, and we did not receive (nor did we expect) any aid or support from the nations of Europe during those periods despite the fact that the United States has always played a role — major or minor — in global humanitarian crises. How much money did the Czar raise for the starving Irish in the 19th century? Where was Russia during the Armernian genocide?

The United States does not have the most refined democracy, but the idea of liberty and freedom means more to Americans than it does to any other nation on Earth. That’s a fact few people are willing to argue. It is for that reason that comments like yours and other contemporary critics of the United States antagonize and irritate Americans.

When dealing with a Russian associate, like my professor from Moscow State University who is currently a guest lecturer at my college, I have learned to be patient with her, and accept the fact that she is often going to be late for an appointment because she is testing my patience. I have also learned to accept her very short temper. I’ve learned that these are Russian social conventions and that I have to cope with them.

Anti-Americanism only antagonizes and causes problems with the United States, and many people seem to have grown stupid to this fact. Anyone with half a wit should know that dealings with Americans rely heavily on flattery, ego-stroking, and admiration for individualism and liberty. It isn’t an insult to Americans to say this, it is just American culture, and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with that — it is your responsibility as an outsider trying to initiate communcation with an American to learn American social conventions and adapt to them.

        • Adam says:

Although I partially agree with you Martin, surely your not defending Trevor? If you truly wish for the anti-American feeling to stop then tell Trevor to shut the fuck up. It’s that kind of arrogance that spurs on anti-American, feeling not jealousy.

    52. streaky says:

“does english have propaganda posters of russians ???”

Interesting question, I’m British not American I should state, just so there’s no confusion, I was also born in 1981 so probably a bit late for all this.

That being said I’ve never seen anything, it’s certainly not the sort of thing you’d see down any streets in the UK and for that matter as far as I’m aware in the USA.

Arguably all the ‘propaganda’ related to Russia has to be in movies and novels, the most blatant of those would be the Bond movies.

That being said the Bond movies and novels and stuff are all independently written and produced so I doubt you could really call them propaganda as such.

I personally like all the Tom Clancy stuff, that’s arguably independent propaganda - though I just like them because they’re an interesting read.

But in this context no - I’ve never seen or heard of anything even remotely like the above posters.

    57. Looking back into the last decades of USSR I remember - what did not surprise me in any way the, because I grew up with it and considered it normal - ENORMOUS level of MILITARIZATION!

The larger cities were constantly full of soldiers and officers, a lot of areas were closed (and terribly polluted) to have military bases there. Even local inhabitants were kept off.

Even whole “Closed cities” - like town of Liepaja in Latvia, where you had to have written KGB permission to visit your relatives there.

Military terminology was used everywhere, from propaganda posters to newspaper headlines and common language.

      Holy crap!

And that country - a big militarist camp and nothing else - was constantly touting how it is “Fighting for Peace”! And a lot of simple minded, just plain stupid, benevolent but naive folks in West believed them! Crap!

Just like now Russia is “fighting for civil right” and what else not. Not in Russia itself of course. Everywhere else. And again simple minded morons are believing it. Or profiting from pretending to believe.

    65. Adam says:

Though there have been some valid points made here (and some downright retarded ones) there is a recurring theme which annoys me. The idea that communism is to blame is just stupid. In theory, a communist society is a society run by the people for the people. Everyone is equal and, depending on your needs, is paid their wages by the state. Higher education is free for everyone and healthcare etc is also free. Communism does not place power in the hands of a few greedy people. In fact, once communism has been established within a country, the Marxist ideal is that the central government would dissolve and each community would look after themselves. There has never truly been a communist state. Those that call themselves communist or have called themselves communist (cuba, north korea, china, vietnam, russia etc) were never truly communist. This is what annoys me. The view that communism is bad is just bullshit. It creates a perfect and fair society and anyone who says otherwise is speaking out of their ass. And before people start posting comments calling me a “Commie bastard” or anything else I am not defending the USSR or any other “communist” countries, I am merely sticking up for communism itself.

      Adam

      • John says:

I am not calling you a “Commie Bastard” im calling you a “Red Retard” although the Socialist society is supposed to be an autonomous government run by the people and the government is not really “there” but “Everywhere” because the “people run the country” but actually, there is no such thing as a Socialist government lasting, they become Communist because somebody wants to rule, then they do, and the very few(several, several dozen at best) rule the entire country. vs the USA, we have MANY ruling the cuntry, one bad decision, never makes it through the system to the people, one branch of the 4 BRANCH system can stop a bad law in its tracks.
the only way for a SOCIALIST society to work is if the entire world is Socialist, which will never happen.

plus the USSR trying to survive by taking over countries is one side of the argument.

the other side is that the countries being taken over are like forced friends to the USSR, where the people are sacraficed for the mases, which are the people, so the entire thing goes to hell and hurts it own people/the people its “liberating” from its non oppressive government of horrors such as “freedom of speech” and “innocent until proven guilty” and “ability to promote through classes” and also, lets not forget the destructive power of “freedom to protest and say that our president sucks and the government saying okay average Joe!

        • Adam says:

Once again I will explain that I do not agree with the Soviet version of communism.

You’re right communism or socialism cannot exist successfully without the worldwide adoption of such a system. If you believe otherwise you would be a stalinist and trust me I am not one. Also I do not agree with force being used to force people to become part of such a government.

I don’t see what you’re arguing with me about apart from that I believe that communism can exist but so far the conditions have not been right and various dictators have forced communism on countries not suitable for it.

One bad decision never makes its way to the people? Does the war in Iraq not count? Or is it now a good thing?

When I wrote my first comment i tried to make clear that i was defending the IDEOLOGY of communism not previous “communist” governments. Still now that the word IDEOLOGY is in bold maybe it’ll stop other idiots from posting irrelevent bullshit.

You said four branches John. We only have three.

      • Mike says:

        To Adam,

Agree with you about the ideal communism idea that actually has never been reached. The idea itself is perfect. Maybe it came too early for the modern man whose main motto is to consume. One thing, though - I don’t think those countries actually claimed that they have reached the state when they can call themselves communist, I think they claimed that they were on their way to that. USA used spooky label “commi” to create the enemy.

      • Brandon D. says:

[QUOTE from Adam: "The view that communism is bad is just b.s. It creates a perfect and fair society and anyone who says otherwise..." End Quote]

I say otherwise, and I speak from my heart and mind. How is it perfect and fair for a doctor who has to put in 8 years of school + residency and for a cashier who doesn’t show up and works half the hours to be paid equal. Why should lazy people benefit from the fruits of my labor?

If you get paid the same no matter what you do, then most people are going to try and get the laziest easiest job possible. And even then do it un-productively.

Competition and individuals striving for better is good. It motivates people to achieve and do their best.

And how would the central government be dissolved in a communistic society. That doesn’t even make any sense. Who will decide how to divide everything equally and who gets what without an all powerful government. Karl Marx’s ideology is among the worst in human history. He fails to demonstrate common sense and real understanding of human nature.

I understand why masses of un-educated poor workers thought everything being divided equally was a great idea b/c of their condition and lack of access to information.

What is people of today’s excuse?

***” is a society run by the people for the people.”

***”does not place power in the hands of a few greedy people.”

***”and each community would look after themselves” (except in U.S. each state, local gov. and individual look after themselves.)

These ideas you say that communism is supposed to espouse were actually important to and implemented successfully!! by the creators of the first American government.

The creators of the first American government and the U.S. constitution possessed intelligence and wisdom the likes of which Karl Marx (or any communist writer) never knew.

Of course, over the last century, for now, the U.S. government has become a monster that it was never intended to be.

U.S. economy is no longer true free market capitalism (economics, government, and freedom are all strongly tied together), early American leaders were completely against interferring in the affairs of the world, our economy is manipulated by a private central bank, the federal government has taken to a large extent power from each local state’s right to guide its own affairs, etc.. etc…

The American people have been lazy in their duty to keep the government in check.

However, America has not lost its way to the extent that Anti-Americanism around the world likes to propagate.

Cold war didnt end with the disintegration of USSR. We just changed weapons.

The main diference between our countries is that our government doesnt let any corporations to rule like in usa. Your presidents just dolls who dance around richest corporations. Your corps direct its men and women on governments employ to lobby companys interests (and i dont think that corporation cares people needs). Our government direct officials to work in top-managment, some of them just produce ghost “guys you are not far from top of our gov” It is unimagenable YOU LEGOLIZED LOBBING. Yes offcaurse i know that lobbing is a quite positive term, but you found out how to convert it to corruption. I also know legolized lobbing live its live somewhere in EN. But my opinion is that legolized lobbying is direct way to increase corruption level. Yes I know that corraption level in RF also not very low. But we dont broadcast with proud mug that everything is cool.
There was a period in newest history - Russia was ruled by several buisnessmen, it continued several years, than came Putin and life-level started to increase, slightly but increase. We follow forward to USSR, not in idiology and not in stupid rules of behavior, but in bygone power, outside policy, political structure. Freedom))))You shout about your freedom everywhere, but you prefere not to think about its price. However there are no absolutely free people in the world. Personaly I proud that RF is authoritarian state, and many people also. Russians have spesial mentality that we need strict reign. I will repeate that our country remember realy dark ages of 90-th. The highest officials, ministers, depyties and president lived under oligarchs pressure. They bought Elcin`s elections in 1996(whith help of american PR-specialists). Now oligarchs are on their places almostly. Some in golden cage, some in prision, some in graveyard and only one man went to england and swear across the boarders. Clever man.
And what now? You round us whith your bases and other millitaryshit. Is that mean that you afraid? Not you offcaurse, but corporations. They realy affraid even of ghost, spirit of influence that they can devide destiny of their colleagues. Freedom. I herd your goverment pour money into economics. Why dont you make some revolutions))) FREEDOMLOVER your freedom is in danger)))

Im not against you. I against your silly government. I against providers of your culture for mass. Becaurse your culture destroy mind and carry distruktiv ideology for young people. And I against cult of consumption. You just analyze how many useless shit you have bought becaurse attractive people said that you have a problem and this shit will solve it. Faaaashionable))))

Returning to the topic i also want to say that straight propaganda influance only on a “poorminded” people. On other people it doesnt influence, if not making opposite effect. So now some people shoot movies and hide PROPAGANDA THERE! They are realy masters. They shoot it so that when you watch it you feel wave of feelings not from intelligence, but from soul and start to provide it to mind with message “keep it”. Even sophistcated are subject to this process.

So these are new weapons of cold cold war - money and information.

What is all this bullsh!t about “at least here we can speak our minds”?

Is that the best thing that can happen in a supposedly “democratic” and supposedly “free” country? Speaking? For GOD’s sake we were all brainwashed. The fact that you think freedom is having a conversation about how things should be is an obvious red flag to the latter. What power do we have to change anything? Voting? ROLMFAO You probably still believe your vote fawking matters too huh? Explaining the evils of a nation to it’s natives is like explaining that Jesus is the adult version of Santa Claus to fundamentalist christians. Either way they won’t realize the truth until they see the muzzle-flash!

You all can see how deeply engrained this psychological programming is. Say something critical of Jesus anywhee on the web…notice the tone of the responses. Then critisize the U.S…..same tone….everytime. Why is it that the government of a “free” nation is somehow about criticism. Because since birth us americans are told:

      1. The chirst story is real.

      2. America is the greatest nation on earth no matter what the facts state.

      3. (Implied through “logic”) Christ is real therefore the bibble is authentic….thus we must honor our mother and father whom themselves have been brainwashed….falure to adhere means upsetting MOM and DAD and BURNING IN HELL. To critical of the United States Government is like criticizing GOD to the “informed citizenry” of our “great republic”.

I mean geez, most you arseholes can’t even point to a country on the map before you agree that it should be nuked!!! This sort of power shouldn’t be in the hands of hillbillies and baboons!!!

You’ve all been tooled. Owned. Pwned.

      • Person says:

There are alot of Americans like that but there are less and less people that raise their children like that.

And even though they may grow up that way they see a different way. I was told that God was real and such but I don’t beleive that anymore, same with that America is the greatest country. I saw it that way when I was little but I can see our numerous mistakes now.

Thank you for calling us hillbillies and baboons, does that mean that everyone from where you’re from discriminates people so harshly? Alot of people here know where countries are and we’re not the ones that make the final decisions.

I do agree that our government is pretty ridiculous at times and I’m personally not for nuking or war (that’s just way too much money down the drain and too many lives lost- on both sides) but we’re not going to just sit back and do nothing as well.

        • What says:

“Thank you for calling us hillbillies and baboons, does that mean that everyone from where you’re from discriminates people so harshly?”

Actually in “my country” the people are way harsher than that. Baboon or hillbilly is like cartoon comedy compared to what people think and say about each other here.

By the way, “my country” is America!!!

    82. Seamus says:

Most of the comments here are sad and funny….

I believe the vast majority of Russians and Americans are very similar. Most of us want to work, have kids, raise a family, see our kids do better than us and to try and live a full and happy life. Thats what I believe…I don’t think the citizens of each country are very different.

What I think is unfortunate is that the populations of our two great countries are mostly apathetic. Governments should be afraid of their people, not the other way around. Voting is our way to make our voices heard here in the United States, but too few people actually vote. Or if they do vote, they don’t consider what/who they are actually voting for.

Instead of pouring our negative energy into an online forum that will do nothing except piss off each other…pour that into your political system. Motivate other people to become active and actually DO something about the things you don’t like in your government.

I’d love to visit Russia at some point, it always seemed like beautiful countryside to me.

    83. mister boweh says:

Listen, ok? I’m from the u.s. I was raised in a traditionalist family. I think it’s a bunch of bullshit too. But guess what? You guys are bullshitting too.

In my personal opinion, sure the average American is easily influenced by propaganda, and sure they’re a bunch of douchebags. But I can’t stand it when I’m blamed for the same thing.

Most americans are complete dumbasses, and that’s not because of our schooling, although to me it’s rather poor. No, our problem lies with the parents who raise our children without any consideration to what THEY believe in. What the parent thinks is right, they force their kids to think is right. But how do the parents think its right? They get it from their parents who got it from theirs who got it from theirs…

I like how our nation was ORIGINALLY. The problem is that nobody seems to think like Washington or Lincoln anymore. Why? I dunno. Maybe its just that the politicians before them tell them thats how to do it because their political ancestors did it that way. Maybe they’ve got it in their heads that speaking out = shot like JFK. What I do know is that our nations leaders are complete fucking dumbasses. I don’t want to insult Obama just yet, let’s see if his recovery act actually works. Right now, I just want to say that I wish I had no idea how that retard Bush got 8 years in the white house instead of 20 in the big house. Unfortunately, I do.

Written right inside the fabulous little document known as the constitution, there’s a request that to apply for presidency candidates need a partition signed by (i believe) 250 people from the state of residence. At the time of the constitution’s founding, that was a great amount of people, and it meant people would be running across the state looking for signatures.

Now, you can get 250 signatures by walking down any city street.

That’s when political parties formed. Groups of at least 250 people, that would select one guy every four years and give them the signed paper. Therein lies the problem. The americans aren’t all voting for these people. If the americans could truly vote for whoever they wanted, we might have a decent leader. No, instead 250 moneygrubbers and corporal fatcats are deciding who we get to vote for from among themselves. Then, they pool all their millions of dollars to hire the next propagandist to convince the douchebag americans i mentioned up above that their way is the right way, just like their parents did. The few americans who realize the bullshit that’s going on either say nothing, are in on it, or are the gogetters with to busy schedules to worry about other people’s problems.

So who’s at fault here? Is it the corporations who pick which retard gets the spotlight? Is it the propagandists who convince the populous that their leader wants things that they clearly say they don’t? Is it the population for being a bunch of douchebags? All of these have a role to play, but I’d say the biggest one to blame are the parents for raising our kids to learn how to be convinced by the media. That’s what you’re doing. When you force a kid to get baptized, go to a wedding or funeral, or even go to school without any reason other than “because I said so”, you’re teaching your kids that its ok to be manipulated by the media as long as the media says “do it because I said so”. That’s when I start calling your kids douchebags.

I’ve been thinking about writing a book. Think I should?

We were an occupied nation just newly liberated from the racist Dutch only to be bombed by the whites.
In 1957- barely 8 years after violent Independence war against the Ditch, Australians and British bastards, the US funded rebellion in Sumatera to force Independent Sumatra- so the greedy US would have all its oil.
Then in 1959- the US with the Dutch funded more sedition on Maluku- to gain strategic shipping lanes and offshore gas.

The CIA sponsored the installation of US freindly Suhrto an put a gun to his head to sell off our most valuable assets to US multinationals like Cargill, Cincinatti Steel, United Carbides, Freeport, McMOran, the list is nearly endless.
What do we get in return?
US funded sedition through NGO’s and Centre for Demo-crazy, KFC, McDonald’s and their idiotic mass culture which has eroded traditional values and society.
The USA dare lecture to us how to treat and rule our own citizenry- all the while holding a gun to whomever is in power.

The USA’s pet USAID is a joke. All the money is given to known puppets and corrupt politicians who care nothing about the people but instead oppress them violently with US weapons and US nods of approval.

Yes the Soviets were bad- but saints compared to the Protestant assholes of the USA, UK and Holland.
Just loko what the US did to Korea- what right did the USA have to stop others’ deciding their own fate?
Oh- I see- it was always about protecting US multinationals stolen resources and the US corrupt collaborating pets
The treated us like equal humans capable of the same potential as a white.
The Yankee Holocaust perpetrated on the yellow, browns and blacks of the world make Stalin and Mao look like errant schoolboys.
How many die everyday in Africa because Pfizer and other US political sodomite corporatist refuse to generic patents?
The USA treat us still like immature niggers.
They dare call us uneducated, while our literacy ratefor males and females outsrip their third world despotic nation. Obesity- the disease of processed food and ignorant lazy citizenry- is near unfound in Indonesia. We work too hard to repay immoral and unjust US-=WorldBank-IMF cartel loans to get fat on ur bones.
Every comment the USA make to redeem themselves is sour acid in our mouths- vile hypocrisy enough to make one vomit.
Now their new weapon of Colonialism is “Human Rights” as invented by their beloved Dutch Jewry- the very same who colonized Congo and Sierra Leone- hacking off hands, feet, noses and lips for Jew diamonds.
Indonesia’s 235 million people will never forget the colonial bastards of USA, UK and inbred Nederlander.
      Burn Yankee burn.
We of the Third World all danced with joy and wept tears of happiness to see you finally get punched in the nose on 9-11.
And just like all bullies- your sobbed and cried like a coward.
Yankee go home. Fuck off out of everywhere.

BLAH BLAH BLAH! ok eastern hemisphere, listen up. i will make this simple. The USA was started by europeans who DID NOT LIKE the way europe had been run for CENTURIES. they said fuck this, there has to be a better way. so they came here and started the USA. WE DO THINGS DIFFERENT HERE for a reason. the concept of the CCCP is directly opposed to the core beliefs of americans. let me ask you this: Why do i have to consider your feelings? why should i care about what you think? you obviously dont care what i think. i am trying to learn about russian culture, the good and the bad.

As for the superpower, yes, we are. period. but we would much rather engage in peacfull trade and comerce with you than beat your men into submission and take your women. we like money, not blood. instead of talking out your ass like a retard, why dont you ask me a question? start a meaningfull dialoge where we can learn about each other. That way i dont have to get off my fat yankee ass and pound your starving ass into dust. Am i asking too much? perpetuating this meaningless, unfounded hatred will keep the USA as the only superpower.

    86. WTF says:

by the way, all you third worlders that hate america: no one cares what you think. you have proven that no matter what you are all you ever can be. you have been around for thousands of years longer than us, yet you dont even know that writing has been invented. at least the CCCP pulled itself out of the dark ages to be a worthy enemy. whats your excuse?

      Hello..the world. Welcome to Yiwu.

    88. Who says “Russia & the USA are ALLIES?” Before too long citizens off the US, and of CCCP will have more in common then anyone ever thought. When Governments are no longer, for the people, then the people have to stand up and be counted. I’d like to be wrong, but recent events tell me History is about to repeat itself. I’ve been to Russia, and the normal citizens are very nice people. Unlike normal citizens we have in the US. Very rarely will someone in the US stop to help someone stranded on the highway. I saw it all the time in Russia.

Most of it is true, to a certain degree of course …

    90. Sandman says:

I just happened to notice that on the “Same year different weather” it says that the red bar, ie; Soviet production is higher than the black bar, ie; US production. However when you look at the actual bars you can see that the Soviet production is up to 20% while the US production is actually 22%. Huh.

    91. I have several (6 or so) similar Soviet propaganda posters from 1984. Maybe this will inspire me to take snapshots of them and post them.

The victory of Vietnam is a victory of solidarity.

I am so glad the americans got kicked out from Vietnam. The vietnamese people (also in the southern part of the country) always wanted freedom and they were mostly pro-socialists, surely not capitalists. What happened after the war is not good, the government invaded Cambodia and Vietnam closed itself to the world…
