Art on the Plant

This is the biggest Ural plant “URALMASH”, in order to build it they destroyed thousand of square miles of virgin thousand years old aged forests 60 years ago. It was working thru all the Soviet era and then during the capitalistic phase of modern Russian economy too, but now because of the world’s crisis it has been stopped. Now the rooms of the plant stand still and some artist has completed the nature paintings on the lockers around the plant so that it looks even more creepy now.

FIRST!
This idle factory shows Russia is 100% dependent on USA for its survival
great post. thanks.
OMG it’s so lonely in Estonia…
that is hauntingly beautiful
nice, what kind of factory is this?
nice paintings- it must have taken some time to do it all…
simply amazing. Russia is the most fascinating country. you would never get this in the West, just a fucking Coca cola vending machine instead. or bloody Mars bars. The east is fascinating place
Drunk paintings.
What does the mash is Uralmash mean? I’ve noticed some other Russian factories have mash in their name.
I don’t really speak much Russian but I think it is short for something like “mechanical works.”
You’re most likely right; something like ‘Ural Mashina’ or whatnot
Looks like a scene from STALKER! (The game)
creative…seems it’s a good idea to makeover an old plant where people used to work every day to make a living. I guess they should re-open the plant as an art gallery or whatnot.
oh yeah and “mash” means machine, like “machines from Urals”
Looking at the wear around the handles of the lockers one would presume the paintings were done while the factory was still in operation. Beautiful pictures… what is with the good quality posts today I am shocked
it was also one of the biggest mafia organizations in entire Russia
yes, and this bratva are almost all dead or in jail after the bloody nineties.
