Russian Police
In Russia police is not respected by citizens. People simply doesn’t love policemen and often don’t go to police for the help. And police pays back – they often break the laws themselves and policemen behave in not proper way.
There is a lot of police on the street of Russia, one of the reasons is high crime rate, another reason is possibly the belief of authorities that if they have a numerous police at their disposal they can prevent any civil unrest.
Because the police is huge in personnel they often hire people without a proper education to serve in police, just like in 3rd world countries, people without high moral principles and understanding that if they serve as policemen they should serve and protect. Often they do absolutely contrary things. There is a Russian joke: a young man went to work as a policeman, but has not received his salary for quite a long period of time – a few months, so the senior officer asks him – “Why didn’t you get your salary yet?” and the young man replied: “What? I am supposed to get a salary? I though if I got a police uniform and a gun I now can get funding myself”. Sometimes it happens right like in this joke, the only difference that such policemen don’t forget to get their salaries.

Giving a light to a stranger is an expression of compassion, just a few years ago during a Soviet era police would take him away in the trunk to the nearest police station, but now they understand that not much in term of money can they get from him.
The Russian police now is very corrupted, and nothing can be done because this corruption comes from the people, who support it. They don’t comply they got used that the police is such a thing that can demand money or use violence without a reason, so they just try not to apply to police without a very serious reason. And it’s a pity.

I live in Latvia (but I am not Latvian or Russian) and the police are much the same. I don’t see them drunk and passed out, but they love their bribes. Oh, and while I am here, I just want to say that Latvians and Russians get along fine here, for the most part. The news and the governments (Lativan politics is hilarious) make it out to be worse than it is.

For you scepticists out there, these photos are not only absolutely true, - the horriblest thing, they are TYPICAL. As a habitant of Moscow I can assure you that an average militia man in this city is just that, if not more, mean, fat, ill-tempered and resebles a half-orc. I wonder, do the authorities breed them, or they become like that as a result of their ‘work’? Surely they look not like typical Russians, but some ugly abominations. The specimen in these photos are even not the worst cases. Well, I don’t see them drunk so often, but rather bullying immigrant workers now and then and doing their racket all around. Not a pleasant sight, either - you should’ve seen it.

This is particularly true. But listen up, one my friend live in Odessa and serve in police. His rank is leutenant. His salary is 150 dollars per month. Come here and try to survive with such a shit of salary. What do you propose to our people? Single citizen cannot resist the corrupted police system. And don’t tell me american cops don’t take bribes.
The point is our government should make our police to value their job.
The police in Dallas, Texas USA make $40,000.00 a year! No need for corruption, but some do take part-time jobs as security or traffic control officers at churches and special events to up their take home pay.

Britain has very nice police officers, the occasional asshole , but they all have to go through training, they all want to serve, they don’t take bribes etc… wonderfull law enforcment compared to the states.

i agree with u when u say that Britain has nice police officers. im russian and i live in London and im hoping to become a police officer. im doing my work experience in a police station (im 15)and i know a few cops, and they are mostly great people. u do get an asshole here and there, lol, but isn’t it like that in all of the countries. u get good cops and bad cops. and in russia - mostly bad cops.

If you just walk in peace on the streat in your Motherland in Moscow without passport - you have a big risk to find yourself in backside of the net of police department cell! Futher you will ask cops to take some money for your freedom, more and more money, and they won’t take it until they understand that you cannot give them more money. However, what did you expect? Russian policemen are engaged from least-educated social groups and they can not find any other job because they have not any skills or talents. And police job in Russian public opinion is not recognised as estimable job, so this is vicious circle.

Только вот призадумался я: когда же у меня случались неразрешимые проблемы с милицией? - Так и не сумел вспомнить. В худшем случае приходилось расставаться с энной суммой денег, в обмен на “вольную”. НО! ЭТО ТОЛЬКО ПРИ УСЛОВИИ НАСТОЯЩЕЙ ПРОВИННОСТИ!!! Я думаю, такой “увеличенный штраф” вполне можно позволить себе заплатить за более быстрое и безболезненное решение вопроса.
А так, помни одно: не выебывайся на власть предержащих и не будешь выебан.
Кстати, милицейские чины (где-то от капитана, или, скорее - майора) - вполне приличные люди, прекрасно отдающие себе отчет в том что вокруг происходит, и о том, кто перед ними находится. Не припомню, чтобы русского студента в подпитии и без документов менты как-то бы обижали. Ну оставят тебя в обезьяннике на ночь, удостоверятся, что ты тот самый за которого себя выдаешь - и отпускают. А если в обезьяннике места нет - то и просто так отпустят.

Я как говорится тронут (в хорошем смысле этого слова) заботой о милиционерах и праведном гневе им сочувствующих, но раз у меня были неприятности с одной конторой и пришлось обращаться так сказать по месту жительства в УВД «Драгомилово», так мне там прямо из окошка приема документов милиционер реально предлагали «крышу» и «знакомых братков съездить разобраться».
Так что это настоящее лицо милиции, что здесь показано. Только таких я их и знаю.

Меня всегда умиляет фраза типа: “А вы знаете сколько милиционер мало получает?”, типа ну что же вы хотите - дайте 100 рублей несчастному и не спрашивайте слишком много.
Я что-то не понимаю - он что впервые в очереди в бухгалтерии узнал размер своей зарплаты? Нет, сознательно шел на 5-7 тыс. рублей. И значит что получается - с самого начала говорил себе “Пусть зарплата маленькая, зато я сейчас с прохожих насшибаю”.
Если образования не хватает, то для этого ПТУ есть, стань водителем троллейбуса…
Так ведь нет - работать то не хочется, а денег хочется.
Допускаю (с большим сомнением), что есть в милиции люди, которые работают за одну зарплату. Но это в любом случае потенциальный риск. Даже если сам не ищет возможности подкормится, все равно будет готов принять соответствующую сумму от просящего - вопрос только в размере суммы
…А еще мне нравится, что там дают форму и сапоги и все пацаны будут меня обходить стороной, что бы я никого по-пьянке не завалил из своего “Макара”. И девченки не будут мне отказывать потому, что я любого ихнего папашу смогу закрыть. А самое главное, что я могу стать оборотнем в погонах, купить реальную тачку и бухой ездить без прав. А если я дослужусь до офицера, то директор рынка будет мне лично взятки давать и все подчиненые будут приносить долю от своего навара, а я буду балдеть на Канарах. На самом деле, всё случилось в начале 90-х, когда зарплата милиционеров стала просто нищенской, а техническое оснащение - изношенным и устаревшим. Власти было плевать на милицию, власть увлечённо делила наворов… пардон, приватизированное. Вот тогда и начался мощный отток людей из милиции в бандитские группировки, в бизнес или за границу - детей-то кормить надо, они плачут и политике не внемлют. Так что результат вполне закономерен. В милицию вместо нормальных кадров пришло ДЕРЬМО, которое сейчас взращивает следующее поколение такого же дерьма.

Я вот в Москве живу и реально таких милиционеров вижу. Возможно, здесь использован Photoshop, да хоть 3D max и еще бог весть какие программы, но… суть не меняется. Сам сталкиваюсь иногда с милицией, общался с гаишниками и всегда я слышал одно – идут работать набить себе карман.
P.S. Я вижу, что здесь много обиженных людей из бывших республик – зря радуетесь, у вас, ребята, то же самое. Тут не надо радоваться.

И парень поведал, что они зацепили на днях на машине чей-то забор и сломали одну штакетину, даже не заметив этого. И вот теперь доблестная американская полиция их нашла, и уже третий час допрашивает участников инцидента (в машине было трое людей) - как же так, почему же они в забор-то вьехали, и зачем штакетину сломали, и почему скрылись с места преступления… Это ли не дебилизм?..
Ладно бы там уровень преступности низкий был и нечем больше заняться было…
А этим летом в Германии была. Знакомство с ментами ограничилось тем, что попросились с ними сфотографироваться, они обрадовались, и пока человек с фотоаппаратом целился, полицай пытался покрепче ухватиться за мою задницу.
За московской милицией, кстати, подобного замечено не было.
Так что кто там моральный урод, остается невыясненным.

Well its fun but the truth is you could get a dozen of photoes like this in any country. I lived in London for 4 years and in Zurich for 7 years by now. London…… no coments. The rate of street crime is so high that a person carrying more then 50 pounds or NOT driving a used old french car should never even leave the centre. Zurich better but the whole thing is police seems to work well because nothing ever happens. Majority of them have never seen a dead body and vomit when they see blood. These pictures are everyday life. I live in Moscow. If I have a photo camera every time I see pictures like that I will have huge album. Western people are very often naive. They couldn’t imagine that it could be realty somewhere. They never have been deep in life here in Russia. They are used to leave in comparatively intelligent environment all their life. Yes, as exclusion it could be seen every where. But main is that if in west it is exclusion here it is NORMAL. 90% of policeman faces are corrupted with greediness, stupidity, aggression, laziness and all imaginable collection of primitive emotions. As much as look as caricatures. You don’t believe - visit any of Moscow’s railway stations. It is most crowded and you could see those fat creatures in uniforms. It is so normal that seem normal for most of people who leaves here. Even they couldn’t reflect themselves how awful their faces for intelligent people. It is very good seen in comments from Russia. They try to justify that. I think that it comes even further this is the portrait of the people who are in power of nowadays Russia. The only difference all those who are leaders are more successful in hiding that under the mask. The hundreds of controlled “journalists” are worked on creating the bright image of them. The guy who edits this website needs to learn better English. These pictures sure do make Russian cops look like idiots, but most cops in Russia aren’t like this. The good thing about cops in Russia is that if you’re a scumbag and you think you can resist them, there won’t be any tazers or handcuffs; you will just get a beating that will nock all the crap out of you and will remind you to obey the law.
Also as many of the people who visit this site know, Criminal activities in Russia are much more frequent and dramatic rather then in most of industrialized countries. So if you’re putting yourself at a risk much higher then that of US cops, you get paid 10 times less then they do and you come home to a fat wife… Why not accept a few bucks on the side? Those people who speed will always speed, but the bribary they gave to cop who stoped them will support his family and boost his morale.

I am Russian and I think that the reason they pose stupid on th epictures is for fun and you can find that type of shit anywhere in the world but I do realise that the law and training need to be improved in Russia. How ever not everything is like that, there are special police forces which are trained very well for difficult operations and spetsnaz which is a unique force.

I have been to some European countries, and should say that the situations, shown on the pictures can be found in a lot of Western countries, too! (ex. US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Poland, etc). And the situation in their countries is not perfect, too. The situation in Russia is bad, I admit it, but it’s not a reason for shaming Russia. During History, Russia suffred a lot all those revolutions, WWs, etc. But the respected Western gentelments must know that the beautiful Russian women going to the west in search of ‘better life’ is not a permanent thing. Not one of those photos is fake and in fact are quite flattering to the “police” of Russia. EVERY cop that exists within Moscow (or anywhere else in that country) is typical of those pics. Corruption? That just applies to the cops that are smart enough! The ones that are not corrupt are usually out their face through smoking toxic cannabis all day or drunk and the rest are mentally retarded. Trust me, They really are.
I live in Scotland and i can tell you that the typical cop here is a complete prick. An absolute arsehole that avoids anything that may cause him (or her) any inconvenience whatsoever, usually looking for easy targets whilst avoiding drunk/drugged youths that are causing mayhem wherever they may be.
