Just another portion of photos from Russian streets.
Let’s start with some Russian street racing photos:
This is Lada 21099 with some heavy heavy tuning. It’s so heavy that it can probably barely move.
And this is Street Racing Team “Moskvich” , those cars Moskvich were named after Moscow. This team introduces a wooden style. The tuning is not so heavy, for sure wood is much light in weight than steel.
Street racing contests are illegal usually so here comes the police. Road police sometimes rides tractors, though it’s probably enough to chase the wooden team.
The spectators, to satisfy them just hit ok, hit it hard.
Probably the wooden team fans.
And now Lada fans.
And here comes a road police fan.
After show is over fans return home:

Hey, they’re are just a joke-cars, nothing more. I don’t think it is real, to see the cars like that on the streets. So I live in Russia for all my life and didn’t see something like that.
You will never understand Russia and this peculiar humor! Americans, most of you can lie on the sofa and watch TV. You can’t undrestand these people.
Dear yanks, I really am sorry for the poor dim-witted Russian padonkis who post all these “you yanks are stupid!” posts. They really think they are cool until they are laughed at.
So, back to the topic we’re discussing. As you can imagine, most of these photos are either jokes or simply unique cases that are rarely seen in real Russia. Though, we Russians say that there’s a part of truth in every joke (I know there’s a similar expression in English, but I’m ashamed not to remember exactly how it says).
One man said: “For most people who like to tune and race on the streets, it seems too long and inconvenient to write “I’m a stupid clumsy driver who tries to race a car that cannot even brake” on the side of their cars. So they usually write “Street Racer” ”. Sadly, it is so. The “Street Racers” here in Russia are reckless arrogant stupid arseholes who have neither enough experience to drive without eventually getting into serious road accident and (God save us) killing themselves and people around them, nor taste to pay the money for the tuning instead of trying to tune the car with their twisted hands. It is believed that self-made is better than bought here in Russia, you know. Not better exactly, but cheaper, that’s for sure.
So the crappy freakomobiles made by home-raised tuners are becoming the symbol of Russia, as well as worn lingerie vending machines are becoming the symbol of Japan. Said but true…
This site confirms every stereotype I ever held about Russia. That is not to say that I don’t believe that things are actually like this, though.
