Helping Themselves by Themselves

Many old Russian houses built in Soviet times were not equipped to help disabled people get inside. Still there are tens of thousands of such people living in those houses, and some have to built some devices that help them to get in. This is one of such.

Re: sex and Soviet doctors : this true, because Soviet doctors are 99% females, and they were [and are] not getting that much, due to the atrophied nature of the average Russian willy, a result of centuries of drinking and bad food. Russian men, sorry tosay this being one myself, are wasted and virtually useless at the age of 35, with many impotents and infertility in general.

Did they? It looks to me the vertical pipe holding the crane´s arm is anchored into the triangular metal pieces.
I think this is a nice piece of DIY engineering, but I also think it is a bit of overkill - maybe it would be much easier and safer to use a pair of boards put onto the stairway and use the electric hoist as a come-along to get the gentleman upstairs.

It doesn’t seem right that these old folks should have to go to such extremes just to get by. If I lived nearby I would have to help them.
