They have all got there to… throw their shoes in the photo of George Bush and some other people, that were drawn on the basketball stand.
The slogan of the action was “I won’t miss!”.

помоему я отвечала довольно цивильно. На жалость давить? А я и не думала жалость вызывать, только констатирую факты. Жили в однокомнатной квартире и имели старый разваленный Москвич. Хотя оба родителя имели доктораты. Когда я спрашивала почему живём в говне, а подругина мать (уборщица) имеет хорошую квартиру и мебель, они сказали что хотят все делать по честному. Обидно конечно же было: кому эта честность нужна то? Вот так и получалось. Очень просто. Тысячи людей так же жили, особенно в районах подальше от Москвы.
Вопросы: почему ты так обозлён на Евреев которые УЕХАЛИ, и не обозлён на своих же Русских, которые живут в России и продали её за Мерседесы. Меня тошнит от этих рож, когда я возвращаюсь в Москву.

I used to know a dude he was a refugee from Russia. Actually he was a Jew from Ukraine and had never been to Russia but for some reason he called himself Russian. When asked why not Ukrainian he used to say that those dumb Yankees wouldn’t know what Ukraine was. I’m from Quebec, the french part of Canada, and surely am left-oriented politicaly (but not a radical).
I’ve seen the numerous images of shoe throwing at Bush around the world. We even had a protest last fall against budgetary cuts in social plans and culture, where some people throwed shoes at an effegy of our Prime Minister. It’s funny and kind of childish, but is a legitimate form of protest. What I find scary though is that there is currently no way that Putin’s face could’ve been on one of those posters and I wonder why. Shouldn’t everybody has at least the right to make fun of their leaders? Shouldn’t the people decide who and how they should be represented without repression? Shouldn’t people be able to have an active role in political life?
I mean can’t you see that your rights and freedom are superficial and possibly temporary? You have no real freedom of press, no viable independant medias, no real political opposition and a lot of corruption. How can you move a country forward by evolving socially and economically in those conditions?
Russia is the 3rd most expensive country to live in. Yet, it only ranks 57th of the richest countries in the world with $15 800 per capita, that is with a fair share of new billionnaires (11th place) and millionnaires(8th place). This leaves your developed country virtually without a viable middle class. To add to that, Russia has the 2nd highest external debt in the world!
Socially, Russia isn’t in the top 30 of most educated countries despite the extended education system. It doesn’t make the top 15 in the highest quality of life, nor the top 10 for best gender equality and that’s without the constant baffling of rights of minorities and gays! In these conditions, it isn’t surprising to find such high levels of alcoolism and homelessness. Consequently, Russia has the highest number of prison population and comes 1st in the not enviable title of least happy country and 2nd in the highest suicide rate in the world!
I do not say you have to absolutely embrace the wersten way of life, but that you sould find a more fair way of doing thing because you clearely are headed in the wrong direction. I just don’t see why you don’t understand that Putin is the driver of a bus heading for a precipice! He should get kicked out, him and his little royal court, just like Bush was! You deserve better.
