Spare Log

Russian spare part 1

The import of USA second hand cars in Russia was booming for a few last years before the economic recession has started. Hundred thousands ex-USA owned cars were imported. The spare parts for such cars are not that cheap as the cars themselves because you know, you need to import them from overseas and pay many taxes. So some people find substitutes from the locally available materials for their Jeep Cherokees.

Example of Capatalist whore cheating citizens of proper nation! Jeep Cherokee arrived from American factory this a way! They smuggle thousands Mexican slaves into their swine country to exploit labor in dangerous auto faktory. Than theys build eastern europe-style fence thousands kilometre long to keep slaves from excape back to beautiful Mexico. And this what we get: Bomagie bumper

That’s a Jeep GRAND Cherokee, the luxury model next to the Cherokee. And it might not be made in America Chrysler Jeep has production plants in Europe

Import of foreign cars dropped 95 % since Putin and his boyfriend decided to increase import taxes. The idea was to stimulate the local industry [read: 2 oligarchs, both liked very much by the Kremlin and now being supported with governmental money, not to build a better product [so it can compete with imports] but to stay alive. In the Far East it is very expensive to buy a car since most of the national plants are located in the European part of Russia and have to be shipped 10.000 km or something close to that . Therefore importing Japanese cars was very popular: cheap and reliable.

Severe protests were organized but to no avail: people were arrested and the import taxes stayed the same. So: less income [or no income - 600.000 people were laid off in November 2008 alone, usually without unemployment benefits (even though this is compulsory by law)] and higher prices, that’s reality for many Russian workers nowadays. And no government to support them. The government supports the rich.

Could you please confirm this really amaizing statement?

        > 2 oligarchs, both liked very much by the Kremlin and now being supported with governmental money

Do you mean Ford and Renault? Or Volvo and General Motors? Or somebody from China? Or Koreans in Taganrog?

        > In the Far East it is very expensive to buy a car since most of the national plants are located in the European part of Russia and have to be shipped 10.000 km or something close to that .

Any railroad delivery of any new local car is now free, go read the news. State pays for it, thanks to “crisis”.

        > 600.000 people were laid off in November 2008 alone.

What’s a pity! But I’m in doubt. What did 600000 do with that foreign cars How much employees per sold car per year do you count? I can’t imagine what could they do with that cars all that time.
If you don’t worry much about digits, why not state “6,000,000 people”? Or 60,000,000?

This is probably intentional. The wooden log can be removed and tossed under the wheels of the 4×4 car if it ever gets stuck in the famous russian road mud. Soviet battle tanks always carry a two people sized wooden pole strapped across their rear, for self-salvage purposes.
