Russian Flying Fortresses
In 1930s Russian army was … by the idea of creating huge planes. At that times they were proposed to have as much propellers as possible to help carrying those huge flying fortresses into the air, jet propulsion has not been implemented at those times yet.
Not much photos were saved since that times, because of the high secrecy levels of such projects and because a lot of time passed already. Still on the photo below you can see one of such planes - a heavy bomber K-7.
Now modern history lovers in Russia try to reconstruct according the plans left in once to be top-secret Russian army archives their look in full color. This is one example based on ideas of Russian aviation engineers of that times.

I can see that whoever did the modern drawings knows nothing about aircraft design. Those landing gear alone would keep it firmly rooted to the ground.

Small known fact: Real K-7 had sauna, swimming pool, movie theatre, bowling alley, skeet shooting range, penny arcade, ski slope, casino and naked girly bar and 2 whorehouse on board. Designers wanted passenger to be entertianed when plane crash (and it usually crashing!!!)
As a former pilot and enthusiast for all types of planes - this plane looks awesome but in no way practical in warfare. I would guess the man or men who designed this plane drank often and much and tried to compensate for their small family jewels and so decided to build a large plane to impress their wife’s with its size. Since the plane was a failure I would guess they just decided to drink more and often and curse America as their wife or wife’s only dreamed of American men with real ideas and size.

I suspect the only thing this guy flew was his imagination.
He implied in an earlier post that he flew an F-16 Viper. In order to do that, he would have had to be an officer–an above-average officer–in the United States Air Force. In order to be that, he would have to be a university graduate–a real one who took hard math and science courses–and able to complete a lot of additional training that requires knowledge of physics, higher-level mathematics, etc. (Fortunately, becoming a USAF fighter pilot is one area in which competence not been completely compromised in favor of politically correct appointments of minorities).
In other words, he could not be the barely-literate dumbass reflected in most of his posts.
If he really did fly an F-16 Viper . . . all I can say is that his posts here are a sad and disgraceful reflection of the skill, competence, and education required of a rather elite group of people (that includes fighter pilots in almost any country’s military), and I recommend he shoot himself in the head with a large-caliber bullet.
To my educated friend - “crush the head of the viper”.
Let me correct your “opinion”…..I am a veteran of the Bosnian and Herzegovina war and I did fly a F-16 fighting Falcon(known as a Viper to us pilots) for Nato from August to September of 1995.
While I am in the public sector now - my opinion and thoughts are my own and filled with humor and jest - my service to my country has no humor - it was real!!!

Why does religion inspire such idiocy in people? It seems no different than politics. Both sides are flipping crazy neither is right and in the end what does either side have?? One side dead the other side not. Did they win? No, they just killed. If you believe in god allah santa or the tooth fairy it makes no difference. You have devoted your life to the pursuit of the unattainable. You should have fought for a relationship with your fellow man not against. He is right next to you real and touchable alive and full of feelings as you are. Just because the two of you believe differently should not give either of you reason to hurt the other. Both sides call the others infidels/sinners because they like different things. Does that mean that because my favorite color is purple and yours is yellow that either one is right? You turn off the lights and they all disappear. Just as when you are dead so is your religious belief or political affiliation. I myself do believe in a higher power. Any one that believes that their belief is right enough for someone to die for should just kill themselves and go talk it over with their piece of the above list. US Republicans stood up to the communists but Putin generally gets a nod from conservatives or is seen as being TOO conservative and TOO anti-liberal. For instance, what Putin did to some war protesters was too much (but not something lots of US conservatives wouldn’t have wanted done to the likes of Michael Moore). McCain was an idiot for wanting war with Russia and having as a right hand man someone who was openly on the payroll of the country of Georgia. He lost the expat vote for that reason. Remember McCain lost in North Carolina and Indiana because of attitudes like that. As an addendum to my previous comment made moments ago: The original Ka-7 (I think was the designation) had many different “Applications” under development. Some of the perhaps-not-so-far-fetched ideas were as a bomber, a troop transport, a VIP carrier, and even a means of transporting heavy artillery through air. No kidding on the last one; apparently, the idea they had was to kind of string a tank between the massive sponsons and fly like that. Perhaps fortunately, none of these ideas “took off,” as on the 2nd flight, the behemoth crashed, killing the crew and I beleive several passerby on the ground.
Another good hit for the “massive pre-war Soviet aircraft” catagory is the Maksim Gorky. I’d tell you more, but that’s y’alls homework for today.

As a former aeroplane designer and pilot of all types of experimental planes I would like to say this design is brilliant. It flew many times when I was studying in aeroplane design school. Fuck all you people claiming to be aeroplane experts I went to Aircraft design School of Engineering Princeton and was shot at many times.
Yes I attended the EAA many times I was there in 1996 fuck you. Also F-16 was only known as Viper by gay pilots who couldnt control their ego - to all cool pilots its always gonna be the Falcon,.
And to us grunts who were required to support it, it’s called the lawn dart.

This plane actualy flew until it crashed on the 5 flight. There where 3 other prototypes instead of two that never finished.
Main problems where the engines, due that they couldnt attach 3 more. If 1 went down the plane whent down.

The nefew of my fathers grandfather used to work on the protypes. He never sayed a thing about them until 1980.
Very nice fantasy artwork, apparently based on a real aircraft-the one with only 6 engines, and NO heavy artillery. Aircraft manufacturers around the world were using the “bigger is better” design strategy during that time period, and had some very innovative ideas, usually failing the power/weight ratio needed for extended range and reliability, the Spruce Goose probably being the most well known. My favorite was the Northrup Flying Wing, which was a successful design, but was killed by military/industrial politics. Most Americans aren’t aware that Nazi Germany developed a heavy bomber (The Gigant, I think) capable of striking the continental USA nonstop from Germany. Thank God Hitler didn’t use its’ potential. And I’m amazed at the Russian seaplane/ground effect missile cruiser Ekranoplan (probably misspelled). Kudos to those who think “out of the box”.

Getting back to the K-7 it is an awesome aircraft for the times, and would have been invaluble in the transport and troop carrying capacity. The picture with the Hanabau is far fetched but as some of us know the Hanabau, produced within the society of the Thule of Nazi Germany has been well documented in the, shall I dare say attempts to build such a flying machine. The K-7 though I beleive I have seen before in pictures with Russian Paratroopers rolling down and off the back of the wings for drops. That had to be a ballsy thing to do at the very least. Your animated pictures of the Ka-7 though are interesting, and I would like to save copies of them for future reference. Old Phantom Phyler (Flyer) Play On words!!!!! Those who flew the old F-4 will know what I’m talking about. Great job with the animated pictures!

if u all would open ur eyes, u will see that the plane in the 3d rendering is at least 20 times larger than the one in the actual photograph. if u wanted proof u could measure different points of reference along the wings and fusalage, but it should be fairly obvious…….even to the Russians…..
