Soviet High-Tech Workers

Soviet Russian IT 1

In Soviet Russia high-tech workers were highly praised. They spent a lot of time resting by the sea, eating in the places where food really tasted good and worked on different space stuff or something.

Zafarad I agree with you on that, but only if you understand under: filled bank account as a filled account with Roubles, good wife as ‘the around the corner 10 dollar HIV-infected prostitute, nice holiday as a trip to Lenin museum, a suntan as result of working in the field instead in a factory, and be loved by the punk that just robbed him/her…than yes great inventors are rewarded, but not in the way they would like to be. And yes they need a filled bank account (with Roubles) to pay for the meat, and pussy and vodka to forget for a moment about the shitty life.

All these workers is being punished. Real Soviet citizen would not endure hours of sun and fun.

To recieve the suntan at beach is worst form of humiliations.

    5. Juhani says:

There is a joke, a very close to reality one:

The Amercan radio asked from Armenian radio:
“how much do you pay to scientists?”
The Armenian radio is quiet for quite some time and replies:
“but in America you lynch negroes”

Usually nobody outside exSoviet understands this joke…

    6. Even better shut the fuck up shithead

    7. KBR says:

Juhani, this one I didn’t hear yet. Bit it is a good one.

    8. KBR says:

Well that is not correct, not all high-tech workers had this kind of luxury, many where happy that they had a ‘bigger’ than normal apartment. But there was a special kind of Soviet High-tech workers, they lived in extreme luxury (for Soviet times) and they lived in special cities, some were not even on official maps. They were the top of the top. Also the same level of luxury or even higher was enjoyed by high level Soviet spies, both KGB and GRU (especially the GRU). So I would not be surprised that some as not many of the people on the top picture were intelligence operatives and their families.

Where is the first picture of the beach from? Sochi??

    12. GL, yeh maybe Sochi, but if so those buildings were not there in ‘93, when I was (Diagamez(sp?) Hotel). Certainly Black Sea, Toupse? Had lunch there once. Could even be Crimia, or the Roumanian ‘gold coast’.
Nice site, just wish the druken children would go away.

Don’t you remember that Soviet engineer was an object of jokes for his tiny salary - 120-140 roubles per month ($180-200), almost twice less than “dirty” workers on the same factories?
