It’s a good tradition to post the “Miss Russia” contenstants each year here at English Russia. This time the contest was held not in Moscow but in a beautiful city of Petrozavodsk in Karelia.

Questions:
1) The one with the big emerald in her crown and the red roses - she was named Miss Russia? Where was he from?
2.) Is wearing long fairly straight hair the norm for beauty there? Hairstyles at pageants are usually extremely elaborate, esp in the evening gown competition.
3.) Was the a talent or declamation contest, or was Miss Russia just picked on appearance?
4.) Do women shave under their arms in most of Russia? Some of these contestants do not.
I notice that several of them have buttonhole piercings - one even has a tattoo of a dragon or something climbing into her crotch. Here they would never make it into the pageant unless they removed the jewelry and applied some body makeup. Different strokes…

I like that these women don’t look like they’ve spent their lifetimes in a plastic surgeon’s office. Well, maybe they have, but it’s not as obvious as in the Miss America pageants.

don’t you realise alot of the girls are poor thye have to make a tube of toothpaste last a year or until the next “sponsor” can take them shopping and buy them boobs too.
i don’t understand some ppl here, if you consider these girls too ugly for you, it’s probably because you have a preference for chicks over 200 pounds with boobs extending down to the floor, or because you are gay, or because you are surrounded by much better looking supermodels everyday of your life, which I sort of doubt.
