Isn’t it awesome? I think it is. It really is awesome. Russia is awesome and drunkenness is awesome, too. Vow! Cool! The Russian militia is awesome, too. They are so cool. Besides, the militia is the best police force in the world. Not only the best, but also the fairest, the most intelligent and the handsomest. In short - awesome. Russia is the most democratic country in the world, a beacon of light to other nations and countries.

Shut the fuck up… you are not funny.

          • marvin says:

Whoops-a-daisy…. now I am hurt, awesomely hurt. My dear D, I wasn’t trying to be funny.I am simply proud of anything Russian. Don’t you share the same feeling with me? Are you not proud of our mother Russia? Then you must be in league with the Nazi Esthonia, I deem …

Will no-one put his shoulder to the wheel alongside me and help enlighten ye, o foolish people (kindred to D& Co), ye which are without understanding; ye which have eyes, and see not; which have ears, and hear not… Boris Abramov? Wilt thou? Certainly thou wilt, I thank thee, comrade.

            • KanuTaH says:

respect the elder by intellect and for the second time keep your zip shut!

              • marvin says:

Whom shall I respect then? You? And what have I done to have deserved attitude like yours? Nothing. I have only glorified mother Russia and mighty Russians, given them respect such as they, an Aryan race, surely deserve to be shown by lower races.

If you do not like Russia, it is your problem because you shall tremble before her might, you shall have awesome fear if mother Russia finds out you do not like her. You shall be smashed into pieces, your mountains shall be made low and your valleys filled …

PS my zip is always closed when my trousers are on. I only open it when I take them off.

                • KanuTaH says:

Aryans are Germans and not Russians, this is clearly an insult, I will mail a letter to Putin concerning this tomorrow.

                  • marvin says:

Dear KanuTah, I am saddened by the lack of knowledge demonstrated by otherwise obviously very intelligent man. It is not only Germans who can claim to belong to the magnificent and superior race, but also Russians:

“Since, in the 19th century, the Indo-Iranians were the ancient known speakers of Indo-European languages, the word Aryan was adopted to refer not only to the Indo-Iranian people, but also to Indo-European speakers as a whole.”

Russian is and Indo-European language - ergo, Russians are Aryans.

This map may explain something to you as well: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Image:Centum_Satem_map.png

So, you just might reconsider sending a letter to Volodja :) Not that I presume he would know that either ….

                    • Stas says:

You insult the country in a “comedy” sense online, and you are not afraid to say anything here because the nearest one of us is 100s of miles away from you.

I would like to see you express your opinion on Russia and your “clever” jokes when you are standing face to face with a Russian.

                      You will shit yourself.

                      • marvin says:

Insult and comedy? Clever jokes? Dear friend, I have done nothing of the sort. The only thing I have been trying to do is to glorify Russia and open the eyes of those who do not yet see the inevitable - namely, that Russia is on her way of becoming a power to be reckoned with again; she is blossoming and soon the first fruit shall be borne and the taste of the fruit will be sweet. Sweet and sour. Tingly. Russia is pupating now and before long it shall come to pass that a wondrous-beautiful butterfly shall emerge, and the beauty of it shall be dazzling to behold, mind-boggingly dazzling. Gas-pipes shall emanate from her body, reaching all living things under this Sun, bringing nourishment and solace. Her countenance shall be brighter that of the Sun, and the Sun shall bow his head in awe.
Hundreds of miles away? No, dear child, I am in the midst of you - now ye can see me, and now ye cannot. And I have yet many things to say unto you, but ye cannot bear them now. I am not afraid of Russians, I stand in awe of Russia and Russians, because Russia has been and always shall be a beacon on the hill for others.
I shall not shit myself, as you so eloquently prophesied - instead, I will be as happy as a clam for Russia and Russians. Perhaps I shall drop a tear. Of joy, you know …

                      • Yep thats true Russian could beat the shit out of any human, Russians are animals.

          • me again says:

Very nice girls on some photos, they would make very pretty police-women. Notice the arm-pathches, which have Rossija and MWD, which stands for Ministierstvo Vnutriennyh Dieu, which means The Ministry of Internal Affairs.

    5. visitor says:

Good photos indeed. Looks like they’re duplicating much of army training, including driving an APV. Good to see minorities there as well. A little too much leather IMHO.

      • R54 says:

Oh yeah, we do it all just to please foreign observers.
We even accepted a couple of Mongoloids into a police school, to show off for the camera.

        • Lenin says:

          Are there blacks in MVD?

          • SR says:

i am serious doubt that. there is very few blacks in Russia and they draw much attention from locals.

            • R54 says:

a black uniformed police officer in Russia would be a joke,

              • Lenin says:

I read once in the news that in Serbia a German tourist ran away scared once he was stopped by a black Serbian police officer. What may seem an aberration could actually exist.

                • R54 says:

Hey I am not saying there should be no blacks in Russian police force. I am not saying there are none. What I am trying to say is there’s no point to assign a black field officer to investigate a criminal case in Russia: it would be politically correct but no practical use.

                • zax says:

Yes, this is a true story. I cannot remember the name of that black man, but he came from some (friendly, non-aligned, African) country to Yugoslavia to study, and later he married and permanently settled here. The famous encounter with German tourists occured some 20 years ago. Tourists had a traffic accident - they hit an ostrich (which escaped from nearby farm) with their car, so they called police. First, they were surprised to see an African bird in Europe. But then, the policeman came. He was black! He later described expression on their faces as extremely funny. They looked at bird… and then at him, and then at each other… Then they started to unfold maps, trying to find where they made “a wrong turn”, as they thought they were in Africa. They understood what happened only when others (white) policemen came.
The policeman later became famous, as the only black state officer (of any kind) in Yugoslavia. Prior to 1990s, Yugoslavia was quite popular among African and Asian students, but as economic and political crisis began (and about the same time non-alignment movement became obsolete), they gradually stopped coming here. In Belgrade, Serbia, now I can’t remember when I last time saw a black person. Maybe a few years ago. When I see them, they are usually tourists… no more students… it’s a pitty.

          • R54 says:

There are virtually no blacks in Russia at all.
Consequently, there are virtually no blacks in MVD.
statistically, you’d be hard-pressed to find a black person in Russia who would like to join the police force. Not too many of them around here.

      • SR says:

they are not mitorities. in Russia they are at home.

    6. Evinoigne says:

Are these Police Cadets conscripted, or are they volunteers?

I ask as Russia has compulsary ‘National Service’ does it not?

      • Domo says:

The Militia Academy is for everybody. But, I believe, if you finish it, you don’t have to go to the army. So it’s a good option for some people.

        • AFAIK for some positions you can go to Militia Academy only _after_ army. The idea is that if you’re healthy enough for that positions then you don’t have excuses to avoid 2 years of wearing army shoes.

      • maxD says:

Police force is not popular in Russia, because of the incredible corruption. Their reputation is very poor. They make very little money, which they compensate by accepting bribes wherever they can. In particular the traffic police is very bad in this sense.

Most of the ’students’ on the pictures are from the countryside, where this reputation is not common knowledge. Plus the chances of getting a job are very slim. Having a job as a policeman is better than no job at all. Russia has no system of social security. There should be food on the table.

        Very nice pictures though!

        • maxDick says:

Most of the ’students’ on the pictures are from the countryside, where this reputation is not common knowledge…. Really ? Moron you don`t know what you are talking about

        • ZDANEK says:

“They make very little money, which they compensate by accepting bribes wherever they can”…

Once upon a time a young man decided to join moscow militia… so he signed a contract, received uniform, ammunition etc…
3 months later an accountant of his police office noticed that man never came to took his salary. So his captain asked him:
          - ” How are you living without money?”
          - “I`ve been given a uniform & a gun, so I decided it was instead of salary” .

    7. Ag says:

Funny, all the students look slim, normal. If you compare it to the teacher or look at other pictures, most of them are far overweight. Seams to be an unhealthy job!

    8. Fudge Islam says:

      Russian Police Training :

      1) Take Bribes

      2) Drink Vodka, stand around and be a slacker

      3) Beat wife

      4) Go thru Fast Food Drive-thru on Horse

Russian girls are the best. Everyone agrees. Show more russian women please.

      • Pacific NW says:

        In America it’s different:

        1) Beat and taze people.

        2) Being a dickhead.

        2) Grow a large mustache.

        3) Beat wife.

Female Russian cops are in a league all by themselves. In the U.S., the female cops are often very butch lesbians, so their mustaches are often not quite as pronounced as their male counterparts.

        • Fudge Islam says:

You forgot that American Cops also :

–Giving out too many speeding tickets while they themseleves are the worst speeders.

–Pull people over just for being the wrong color.

          –Are major substance abusers themselves.

          • ZDANEK says:

Вполне возможно. Как говорится в старом одесском анекдоте: “Всё сильно изменилось, только люди всё те же”.)

17.00 - 17.30 hrs: beatin the shit out of new recruits

17.30 - untill the captain passes out: happy hour with vodka paid by the major.

    28. Ivan says:

      stupid faces…brrrrr

    29. YouSuck says:

      YOU ARE ALL FAGS.

    30. muzhik says:

Marvin, I am saying this at my own peril, (as you seem to be enjoying unprecedented amounts of loathing from many of this blog community, and I might incur the same), but you did manage to crack me up. Your facetious glorification of Russia seems to be much more effective at provoking Russophiles than the outright f-word-ridden bashing of Russia ever would. And albeit I’d beat your face in (in all likelihood) if I were to ever meet you, I still admire your style. ;)

    31. marvin says:

      Dear muzhik,

Long at last! I have found a kindred soul, someone who has brains AND uses his brains. There is no need to beat my face - really, I do like Russians: however, I do like only those kind souls who live in Russia and do not run away for better life and money. Russophiles? Exactly, the kind who lavish praise and “awesome”, and use foul language on everyone who dare to question. I observed that there was so much vulgarity among the comments and thought to have a little fun … Has it ended? I do not know ;)

      Take care

    32. muzhik says:

marvin, I’m afraid that I’m not one of those kind souls who live in Russia. I live “za bugrom”, as they say, “beyond the mound”, or abroad. In the illustrious US and A [sic], to be exact. But I trust you won’t hate me for it.

I try to look at things objectively. I don’t like how media portrays Russia here in the States, always vilifying and demonizing it so as to create an enemy in the minds of the people that would justify spending trillions of dollars on the military-industrial complex. Which, incidentally, is the biggest ruse to transfer public money into private pockets. But that’s a different topic altogether.

Conversely, I don’t like it when my compatriots are gushing mad about Russia, choking in paroxisms of praise and excessive exaltation of everything Russian. Which in and of itself may not have been an altogether bad thing (being patriotic is good, after all, I deem), had they not been willing to burn alive anyone who dares to disagree with them. And why should someone from, say, Banana Republic, give a damn about Russia? :rolling eyes:

After all, there’s plenty of legitimate criticism that can be applied to anyone, Russia and its leaders not being an exception. And all’s not fine and dandy in Russia, and many an improvement needs to be made. By the same token, a lot of good progress has been made, and credit should be given where it’s due. Vladimir Vladimirovich comes to mind.

At any rate, most people have established their positions on this forum, and it’s sort of ridiculous to see the same shit after every article or video posted. The same old arguments, which are more like competitions of who’s got the most vile vocab and who can cuss out whom better. Gets old and boring real quick.

In short, I view this site as somewhat of a joke. It entertains me. I don’t see why Russians get all up in arms trying to discredit the clown that posts these things. Had I time and will to do it, I could start the same kind of site about the States, or any country for that matter. I’m sure England has got her bums and slums also, which aren’t as glorious a depiction as the Clock Tower and the Palace of Westminster, or the Thames river and the Tower Bridge. And I’m sure the government does a lot of shitty things too, which their constituents disapprove of. So, a person that can think critically will not form an opinion about a country or its peoples based on one silly site.

But the ways some of my compatriots conduct themselves, both in person and on different fora, do not serve to dispel the horrid preconceptions that some Westerners have about Russians, but, sadly, only reaffirm them.

      Regards,

    33. marvin says:

      My most honourable, noblest friend,
You trust me rightly, indeed - I shall not hate you for that. On the contrary, I was pleasantly surprised at the things you wrote in the last post. I should have not imagined someone write such sensible thoughts here … I could not agree more with you (except for one aspect, but that is irrelevant at the moment). I am even more surprised that you refuse to bask in the warmth of clever irony, especially because you, without doubt, have fathomed out my nationality. The latter is a new experience to me - I have been called a fascist by Russians since I was 6 years old, and I am still being called that occasionally. And this only because I speak a different language and have blond hair. I remember me and our family being followed by a throng in Ust-Labinsk and Krasnodar in 1977 (I was eight years of age then) - followed and being called bloody fascists who ought to be killed right there and then. This sort of behaviour by the throng was even more surprising considering that fact that we were guests of a respected music professor (Russian) and the people who harassed us knew that. I have always wondered if they thought him a fascist too.

Yes, I am amused by the site, too. That is why I come back here. However, I find it a little alarming that this obviously a young man who posts photographs and videos on the site should make use of the rhetoric of the Soviet era (1/6 of …. ). To me, it is indicative of the fact that Russians have not been able to learn from the past and have not taken the fall of the Soviet Empire with the same sort of stiff upper lip as the British did after their empire crushed, revealing the folly of their ambitions as well as the folly of their belief in the superiority of their nation (as bringers of culture, civilization, law and order - all that as rulers ;) doubtlessly). This is indicative of the same sort of take on people of different nationalities as I experienced in a tender age. This is indicative of the yearning for the lost glory being passed from parent to child and, as such, worrying. Truly worrying. Times have changed, yet they still desperately cling to the past, unable of letting go, unable of moving on, unable of admitting to themselves that mistakes have been made in the past and that the only way to correct them would be to face these mistakes and ask for forgiveness (as the Germans have done). They feel that their history is being re-written by the outside world. The thing is that it is not only their history, and it is only being looked at from the angle of truth. And the truth pains them.

One more thing. I find it a trifle hard to believe that you are a Russian who has recently left Russia. Your English is too good for that. You definitely were born is the US and A…. Well, …. on the other hand, it is conceivable that you are exceptionally gifted in learning languages.

marvin, I am sorry you had to go through such traumatizing experience when you were of such tender age, especially as people are much more impressionable as kids, viewing the world wide-eyed, as their minds try to absorb and process everything new and unknown. Encountering any sort of hostility at such age will undoubtedly leave scars in ones psyche, especially if the said hostility was aimed at ones physical appearance and attributes, or ethnicity things that one cannot really change.

Sadly, my sorrowful motherland is notorious for hate crimes and discrimination. Truth be told, Im not entirely sure Id feel completely safe going to Russia now, especially considering all the anti-American sentiments that are so prevalent over there now. I think my Russian is still pretty good, albeit I might have acquired an accent I cant tell.

By the way, you are right, I did not leave Russia recently. My family left Russia in 1996. Ive never gone back, and obviously had plenty of time to master the language. A strong desire to learn the language of the new land we came to also helped. I was 14 at the time, so it came naturally to me.

At 14, youre still pretty malleable, but not entirely. Hence the two cultures mixed in me. I still retain my identity as a Russian, but undoubtedly Im an American in a lot of other ways. And as much of an oxymoron as it is, I think of myself as a Russian-American. Perhaps a rather considerable presence of Russian-speaking diaspora had also played its role in preventing me from getting completely Americanized.

When talking of Russo-American relationship, I cannot help but be torn by a feeling of ambivalence. I would like to see Russia and America reach full rapprochement, although it is in the political interest of both countries to maintain the hostilities, and in all likelihood will not happen in my lifetime.

      Regards,

      Dear muzhik,
It would be rather interesting to exchange thoughts with you, but not on this forum. Interested? If not, do not be polite, just say flatly.

      sincerely

      marvin

      Dear muzhik,

Woe is me! Alas, I know not of such fora … I should not know since I am not a particularly keen, or informed, mouse-potato. I should venture a guess that neither are you.

      sincerely yours
      marvin
