This guy had a trip to some Northern Russian cities, he concentrated on wooden architecture and churches while shooting. These are genuine Russian views in winter.

Those pics are awesome, almost makes me want to move out of VA and live there.
Are you stupid american? It is cold here!!!
Putin’s penis sucker i want to be your wife
Notice the ‘almost’ that is in the sentence. And your probably just hating becuase I had the first comment and didn’t say something stupid like “first!” anyway.
Well said,i like your comment.Very few people here,in RF consider simple americans are dangerous,we are friends.Wind of change has blown once again..
It can get pretty cold here (US) too. Where I’m at, it was -15F / -26C yesterday. We’ve even had it at -40F/-40C temp once.

I agree, those pictures are amazing. Makes me want to fix up one of those wooden buildings.
LOL yes, me too.
I like the easiness and the beauty in Russia.
the roof, the roof, the roof is on fire ..
truly beautiful… but very cold! thanx
WOW!!!!
looks beautiful & very fairytale looking!!
Lovely! Any specifics about wich buildings and/or where the photo’s were taken?
Yes.
You funny man… Kansas must be proud to have you among their midst!
Sorry, I meant to agree that more information would be appreciated.
Great shots
Beautiful photographs. The night photos are particlarly dramatic. I agree with Niels R., additional information would be appreciated.
photos 1-7 are from rostov veliky (just south of Yaroslavl and only about 4 hours north of Moscow).
Photos 8-16 are from Vologda. I know this wooden building, it made an instant impression on me the first time I saw it there
Awesome photos!
Travelling to Russia this summer, can’t wait to see it all
We do not normally get much snow in the summer… Sorry
me too! I can’t wait. I’d really like to see the beautiful places in the pictures as well.
great photos, keep up the good work
Photos 8-16 are from Vologda; I know this wooden building in 8-10, it left am impression on me the first time I saw it there.

Some photos (at least 19 and 25) are from Velikiy (Great) Ustyug.
So, it looks the guy made the photos during a trip Moscow - Yaroslavl - Vologda - Velikiy Ustyug.
Very beautiful scenery.
Stunning photos. Bizarrely the grander buildings remind me most of the mosques I saw in India. Must be the minarets and towers! Certainly not the snow
Those Orthodox infidel churches and monasteries will be very good mosques someday. No need for violent jihad–all I have to do is wait for the old women to die. The new generation is occupied with fashion shows, television, and night clubs. The little pigs will never see the wolf coming.
What is wrong with a fashon show? Russians are becoming trendsetters and making big waves in fashion, and I plan to be ride those waves like a surfing Shi’ite.
As for a night club . . . have you tried a boogie down? If so you would not be so critical, and you would come to Moscow for something other than giving money to suicidal-bombing Chechens.
You should come out from your cave more often, or have your Wahabi friends bring you some good videos of things besides a car bombing. Those things are fine and they are a great demonstration of your manhood, but you should expand your interests. Try a old Rod Stewart 8-track. Or, turn down the oil lamp, pull the nearest Taliban fighter closer to you, and listen to some Barry Manilow.
Yours in cultural immersion,
M. Ahmadinejad
Mahmoud, you are not only a faggot and a loser, but also a hypocrite. Both comments are by you, and one is critizing the other. Yet both are fucking stupid.
Ok, ignore my cynic comment. I apologize!
My god, I love Russian architecture! These photos are wonderful and the architecture they depict is just heartbreakingly beautiful; not just the onion-domed churches, but things like the wooden bridge and that amazing house, completely denuded of paint by the elements.
Thank you for this.
these building are very nice
and the town is not so crowded as in EUrope/America
Beautiful, and yet kind of sad…
The essence of Russia…
Hello
I really enjoyed watching beautiful images .
Thanks
Just one word WoW.
Gorgeous
Really amazing buliding with wild weather
really nice captures, have to travel there sometime…
Nice it is very nice….Thanks to who put those photos on this website….keep up….@@@@ i feel sad that many Russian people go to Europe, America..and other coutnries..leaving those beautiful churches to die… somebody neet to take care about them…every year…
Great pictures!
It makes the cold look Romantic! That’s tough to do… I should know, it’s 18 below (F) in Minnesota today…
Thank you so much for your photos. It makes these places a reality in our minds, not just some dot on a map. It helps us to really see the living space of other human beings on our planet. The stark beauty is captivating. It is odd how humans put more money into their churches than into their own homes. Such is also the case in Ecuador.
very beautiful house and i also dont see why people argu in a blog they will never revisit i agree with the comment by BURNED by a 16Y/O he/she is right
It’s sad that america is a shitty strip mall on every corner.
Its sad America became a shitty strip mall on every corner.
The baby boom generation is pathetic.
Wow that was like an orgy for the eyes…brilliant photos and brilliant architecture. I wish I lived in a country which had some history to it.
absolutely stunning photography….I’m going to link you on my site….I recently read Dead Souls by Gogol and I was very curious to understand the color of green he described the houses as being painted….I see it here in your work. Again, it’s fantastic work. Jamie, Atlanta, Georgia, USA.

Very beautiful -
All you ever get to see of Russia is ugly Soviet-style apartment buildings. What a contrast.
Cold or not, I want to vist Russia to see these sights.
Wonderful collection of winter scenery. I love the ability to see other beautiful parts of the world that I may never get to visit.
Do a series on Russian chainsaws, lumbering, lumber mills, they must be awesome!
For high school English class in 1972, I did a 10 page paper on Russian Architecture. I wish this site would have been available then. Beautiful, just amazing. Thank you for this site.

Thanks for these photos of the harsh and breathtakingly beautiful landscape. As I’ve been looking at ER photos, I’ve wondered why I haven’t seen more (or actually any) bicycles. And here someone is cycling in the ice and snow, which must be difficult. I wonder if snowmobiles are commonly used in this area?
